The homepage of the website of the famous architecture firm says that it \u201cembraces architecture as a social act.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-103928 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/IN-EVIDENZA-Matthew-Brush_1-copy-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1100\" height=\"733\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see in the pictures, Mariposa acted as an outdoor stage for the <a href=\"http:\/\/jacobjonas.com\/\">Jacob Jonas Dance Company<\/a>, which, as part of their <strong>#CamerasandDancers <\/strong>initiative, feature monthly <strong>photo essays of architecturally inspired spaces<\/strong>. One of the things that attracted them to the building was all the natural light that plays with the volumes of Mariposa. LOHA accepted with enthusiasm because it nurtures a relationship with the arts and believes that similar events really elevate the architecture.<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_103921\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-103921\" style=\"width: 1100px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-103920\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/4-Jessica-Zollaman_1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1100\" height=\"733\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-103921\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo Jessica Zollaman CamerasandDancers, Courtesy Lorcan O&#8217;Herlihy Architects [LOHA]<\/figcaption><\/figure><strong>Lorcan O&#8217;Herlihy <\/strong>commented: \u201cThese artists understood the building in a very significant way. The <strong>movement of their bodies responds to the geometries of the project<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><figure id=\"attachment_103923\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-103923\" style=\"width: 1100px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-103922\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/5-Minh-Tran_1-copy-1024x671.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1100\" height=\"721\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-103923\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo Minh Tran CamerasandDancers, Courtesy Lorcan O&#8217;Herlihy Architects [LOHA]<\/figcaption><\/figure>The original square volume resting on a podium was \u2018squeezed\u2019 on all four sides, deforming the mass, creating <strong>four curves on the fa\u00e7ades<\/strong> and <strong>stretching<\/strong> <strong>the internal courtyard into an oval<\/strong>. The mass of the building lost during this compression is recovered with the <strong>balconies extruded from the block<\/strong>, which take on different shapes, depending on the curve of the wall.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_103925\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-103925\" style=\"width: 1001px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-103924\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/6-Mariposa_09-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1001\" height=\"1501\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-103925\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo Paul Vu)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Mariposa 1038, thanks to this particular shape, ensures a greater space to the sidewalks and public space, which is so precious in this area. The pure white of the fa\u00e7ades is interrupted by black balconies and frames that turn the <strong>prospect into a sort of chessboard<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_103927\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-103927\" style=\"width: 1001px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-103926\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/7-Mariposa_17-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1001\" height=\"667\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-103927\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Photo Paul Vu)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Entering the courtyard, you are surrounded by a kind of <strong>wrapping ribbon<\/strong>, creating the <strong>interior organization<\/strong> <strong>through stairs and balconies <\/strong>on all the floors (five levels above ground). All living units are equipped with <strong>sustainable cooling<\/strong> systems and the rooftop terrace offers additional outdoor space for residents who can, therefore, enjoy the surrounding skyline.
