The green color keeps on going<\/h3>\n

As already stated by DDN Blog last January<\/a>, green has been widely diffused at Salone del Mobile 2019<\/strong>. Flou Natevo<\/a>‘s profusion of green, with fabrics and leathers in different shades, such as the dark green of the Binario two-seater sofa by Pinuccio Borgonovo<\/strong>. Grass green for the modular outdoor sofa by Nardi<\/a>, which can take on infinite shapes with great ease, thanks to an extremely simple interlocking assembly technique.<\/p>\n\n

The orange color is coming<\/h3>\n

Orange is the emerging colour of the Salone 2019. Also by Flou Natevo, bright orange for the coverings<\/strong> of beds and sofas. Kartell<\/a>, in the “Windows” by Ferruccio Laviani<\/strong>, suggested orange<\/strong> for the Venice chair, by Philippe Starck, and for the Sound-Track containers by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba, and Eur, by Fabio Novembre.<\/p>\n\n

Vintage: always a star<\/h3>\n

Whether it’s a mood, a re-edition, an inspiration, vintage is always highly featured in the furniture<\/a><\/strong>. Edizioni De Padova<\/a> offered a re-edition of the Wingback armchair, designed by Paul McCobb in 1956<\/strong>. The Gentleman armchair<\/strong> by Marcel Wanders<\/strong> for Poliform<\/a> is also vintage-inspired, evoking vintage elegance even in its name and reaffirming it with soft, cosy shapes. The daybed by Elisa Ossino for De Padova also features a vintage mood, while the Carlo table, designed by Tono Morganti in 1989, has been re-edited.<\/p>\n\n

Material e materials<\/h3>\n

The research on materials is expressed both in the decorations and in the technological research, which allows to achieve amazing performances. The Henry<\/strong> table by Poliform<\/strong> is almost a sculpture with the black Sahara marble top and the black elm structure. French Concession<\/strong> – the table designed by Piero Lissoni<\/strong> for the Hotel The Middle House in Shanghai and manufactured by De Padova<\/strong> – uses white Corian for a project that challenges gravity and stands on a single central conical foot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Technology and IT<\/h3>\n

Technology means intelligence applied to design, but not only automation and artificial intelligence. The doors by ADL<\/strong>, a company of the Boffi-De Padova-Ma\/U-ADL group, are high-tech works, with extremely thin profiles<\/strong> (36×38 mm), which support movable walls up to 7 metres wide<\/strong>, and rails that ensure extremely smooth sliding. Kartell<\/strong>‘s technology, on the other hand, allowed Philippe Starck<\/strong> to design the first chair developed by a software based on inputs from humans. The outcome is the chair A.I. (Artificial Intelligence<\/strong>), a chair which combines the requirements in a form designed directly by the Autodesk software, which allows to drastically reduce the time of prototyping and engineering.<\/p>\n\n

Outdoor furniture is expanding<\/h3>\n

For some years now, outdoor furniture has confirmed itself as a new frontier in furniture design. Nardi Outdoor<\/a> has developed a system of sofas and armchairs, Komodo<\/a>, which changes layout easily, thanks to a system of joints of armrests, backs and seats, by plastic, in many colors, as many are the colors of the coverings.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
