Since the early 20<sup>th<\/sup> century it has been used for parts of the engine, wheel rims and other components of cars and motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_109209\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-109209\" style=\"width: 787px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-109208 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Stand-magis_vela_impilata.jpg\" alt=\"stand-magis-salone-mobile-2019-sedia-vela.jpg\" width=\"787\" height=\"525\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-109209\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The booth of Magis at the Salone del Mobile 2019, with stacked Vela chairs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Magis and magnesium<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Eugenio Perazza<\/strong><strong>, the founder of Magis<\/strong>, wanted a magnesium chair and entrusted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kuchikamitai.com\">Gilli Kuchik &amp; Ran Amitai<\/a> with the project. This is how the Israeli designers created <strong>Vela, a stackable and lightweight chair<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_109207\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-109207\" style=\"width: 787px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-109206 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Stand-magis_sedia_vela.jpg\" alt=\"stand-magis-salone-mobile-2019-sedia-vela.jpg\" width=\"787\" height=\"525\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-109207\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The booth of Magis at the Salone del Mobile 2019, with stacked Vela chairs<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The characteristics of the material make it possible to use a limited amount of it and two openings in the backrest make it <strong>suitable for outdoor use<\/strong>.
