Finland took part in the Milan Design Week with exhibitions and installations by Finnish designers and companies<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Also this year Finland<\/strong> took part in the Salone del Mobile<\/a> and Fuorisalone with its companies and designers. At the Rho-Fieramilano fairgrounds some important brands, such as Inno Interior, Nikari, Kristiina Lassus \u2013 Onokasa, Saas Instruments, Secto Design, Showroom Finland<\/strong> and Woodnotes<\/strong>, presented a selection of furnishing and lighting objects characterized by a strong Nordic identity<\/strong>. In the city, on the other hand, Finnish companies and designers enlivened several districts of Milan with their installations and creations throughout the Milan Design Week<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Marimekko Shoppable Home, via Palermo 5<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

At the Brera Design Week<\/a>, Marimekko<\/strong>, historic textile company from Finland, presented Marimekko Shoppable Home<\/a>, a special customer experience combining physical products and digital shopping. Moreover, it launched its Spring\/Summer 2019 collection.<\/p>\n

Artek. Amy-d Arte Spazio (Ph: Daniele Ansidei)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Brera design district<\/a> also staged the\u00a0 relationships between Finland<\/strong> and Japan<\/strong>, the theme of Artek Amy-d Arte Spazio<\/strong>, the installation by Linda Bergroth<\/strong> curated by Artek<\/a>. Objects and complements by Aino <\/strong>and<\/strong> Alvar Aalto <\/strong>that have become contemporary design icons, dialogued with products by Koichi Futatsumata<\/strong>, Akira Minagawa<\/strong> and Jo Nagasaka<\/strong>, weaving an ideal web between Finland and Japan, highlighting the modernity of Artek products.<\/p>\n

Kuura installation with Arctic Design Shop<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Isola Design District<\/a> hosted\u00a0 an exhibition featuring interactive installations inspired and dedicated to Finnish<\/strong> Lapland<\/strong>, which showed the Arctic lifestyle. Kuura<\/strong> was the project curated by a group of Finnish students from the University of Lapland \u2013 Faculty of Art and Design (Rovaniemi<\/strong>, the Capital of Finnish Lapland and the official hometown of Santa Claus).<\/p>\n

The Nordic Design Apartment<\/strong> on via Maroncelli, in the Isola Design District<\/a>, was an installation curated by Myriam Kuehne Rauner in collaboration with Finnish designer Jutta Yl\u00e4-Mononen who presented the book Inspire Me!<\/strong><\/em> dedicated to 25 Finnish designers.<\/p>\n

Kolho<\/strong>, in the Isola Design District<\/a>, presented <\/strong>a selection of tables and chairs inspired by the moon, produced by Finnish company Made by Choice<\/strong> with Matthew Day Jackson, Formica Group, Hauser<\/strong> and Wirth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Marimekko <\/strong>took also part in the Tortona Design Week<\/a> with Guide shop Bagalier Milano Tortona<\/strong>. In the industrial premises of the historic Galvanotecnica Bugatti<\/strong>, the Finnish textile company presented, with Bagalier – Gruppo Streni, the collections of textile accessories and ceramics Onni and Kukkaketo by Japanese designer <\/strong>Fujiwo Ishimoto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To conclude, we can mention Finland\u2019s participation in the XXII International Exhibiton of Triennale di Milano<\/a> Broken Nature: Design takes on human survival, curated by Paola Antonelli<\/strong>, with Everyday Experiments<\/strong>.
