Her 300 sheep inspired her to produce exclusive <strong>woolen objects<\/strong>, so much so that she has been called the <strong>shepherdess of design<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_109866\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-109866\" style=\"width: 827px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-109865\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/CestoBALAIO-MEU-BEM.jpg\" alt=\"Ines-schertel-oggetti-design-in-lana\" width=\"827\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-109866\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The hand-felted Meu Bem basket (2018) reveals the natural color of sheep wool. The designer decided not to dye it and the result is represented by a color duo: brown and beige. Processing time: 2 weeks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Some of her works will be presented at Materica, the <strong>exhibition dedicated to unusual materials <\/strong>and common materials used in uncommon ways that takes place in the iconic spaces of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhow-milan.com\/\">Nhow hotel in Milan<\/a>, Via Tortona 35, <strong>from 16 May to 31 October 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_109868\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-109868\" style=\"width: 840px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-109867\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Graxaim-1024x667.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"547\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-109868\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Graxaim tapestry (2019) was created by processing the different parts individually and then dyeing them with vegetable pigments. Processing time: about 3 months. The designer uses copper, leaves, eucalyptus petals, seeds and herbs such as carqueja and raiz de S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o. Steam allows natural pigments to fix colors<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In\u00eas Schertel, a representative of \u201c<strong>slow design<\/strong>\u201d, creates her works <strong>felting sheep wool and dyeing it with vegetable pigments<\/strong>, a 6,000 years old technique that the designer perfected during her journeys in Europe and Central Asia.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_109870\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-109870\" style=\"width: 741px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-109869\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Porva.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"741\" height=\"800\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-109870\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Porva stool (2018). Overlapping layers of wool become a comfortable seat \u201cset\u201d on the small backrest of this hand felted and dyed stool. Its legs are in certified Tauari wood. Processing time: 1 month<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Wool is pressed by hand with water and olive-oil soap, creating different layers that blend harmoniously generating surprising effects.
