In 2014, The Macallan decided to build a new distillery to offer its customers a new visitor experience. The new <strong>Macallan Distillery, 400 m from the previous facility<\/strong>, is the first designed by an international studio, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rsh-p.com\">Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners<\/a>, in the Speyside region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Discover also <\/strong><strong><a href=\"\/?p=99625\">L&#8217;Astemia Pentita, the first pop winery<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Discover also <a href=\"\/?p=131829\">Cantina Ceretto and Cappella del Barolo<\/a><\/strong><strong>, with Sol LeWitt\u2019s works<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-141834\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/distilleria3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"562\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Speyside, in the Scottish Highlands<\/strong>, is the region that hosts the distilleries that produce <strong>the most famous Scottish whiskies<\/strong>, Chivas, Glenlivet, Glen Grant, and The Macallan. The landscape is extremely green, dotted with buildings perfectly integrated into the landscape.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-141832\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/distilleria2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"556\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In order to adapt to the surrounding landscape, the firm focused on an architecture with a <strong>green roof, which blends perfectly into the landscape<\/strong>. The roof consists of 1,800 single beams, 2,500 different elements and 380,000 individual components, almost none of which are identical to each other. These cells are reflected in the structure of the roof, made of gently undulating wood.
