The recent sanitary emergency made it necessary for many people to stay locked up indoors for several months and made outdoor spaces even more valuable. As a result, outdoor furniture, which has been growing steadily for ten years, continues to thrive and is among the industries least affected by the crisis. Moreover, companies invest more and more in outdoor furniture, looking for new recyclable materials that use less energy and are ultimately more eco-friendly.<\/p>\n

Armchairs and sofas to relax outdoor<\/h3>\n

Forte dei Marmi is a sectional modular lounge sofa, designed by Studio Marco Piva<\/a>, from the Versilia collection by Rever.<\/strong> The pieces, which can be freely combined, feature a rope or woven fabric backrest with metal frame and decorative and supporting cushions. The coffee table completes the collection, both as a modular complement and as a free-standing element.<\/p>\n

Outdoor furniture and recycled materials<\/h3>\n

Folio Rocking is the rocking version of Folio, the chair designed by Raffaello Galiotto for Nardi Outdoor<\/a>.<\/strong> As the name says, Folio is made from a single sheet of resin, bent to balance the seat’s stiffness and elasticity. The kit for the rocking base is an optional of the fixed version, which can be purchased separately, formed by two slides to be applied in place of the feet. Hollow armrests hide a patented mini manual mechanism, which allows the backrest to recline in two positions. The chair also includes two upholstered cushions for extra comfort. Folio is in fully recyclable polypropylene, an extra element of the “Regeneration” project for the reuse of plastic, a project that Nardi enthusiastically supports.<\/p>\n

Comfortable lounge chairs<\/h3>\n

Emma is a lounge chair designed by Monica Armani for Varaschin, with weatherproof materials, as needed for the outdoor furniture.<\/strong> Therefore, the painted aluminum structure is covered with a handmade weave, with a polypropylene cord, especially suitable for outdoor furniture. The seat cushions feature removable covers, upholstered in Dryfeel, a filling ideal for outdoor use. Finally, the legs are by aluminum or iroko wood.<\/p>\n

Daybed Emma, by Monica Armani for Varaschin<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Scacco collection, by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba for Talenti<\/strong>, plays on the contrast between the roundness of the upholstery and the chessboard designed on the backrest. It features an aluminum structure, upholstered with synthetic nautical rope drawing a chessboard, which takes on different shapes, depending on the model. A modular Sofa, a piece available in a wide range of modules, creates an exceptionally versatile outdoor furniture collection.<\/p>\n

From Flexform<\/a>, the Tessa armchair, by Antonio Citterio Design<\/strong>, in the Outdoor version. Outdoor version is made of iroko wood, with joints according to tradition. Seat and backrest feature an interweaving polypropylene cord, hand-woven, in different colors. The cushions make the armchair more comfortable. The Tessa Outdoor furniture family includes an armchair, pouf, a bench, and a coffee table.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Its characteristic feature is the raw slatted backrest, in natural teak, held together by unique metal staples. The cushions feature chunky woven fabrics, which complete the “raw” style.<\/p>\n

Very simple and essential, Shibuya is Ferruccio Laviani’s pergola for Unopi\u00f9<\/strong>. Two cubic units slide on rails, to take different positions. A version with swivel wheels equipped with lock allows even more mobility. Launched for the first time in 2014, today, it features an aluminum structure, yet lighter and more comfortable to move. Among the accessories for comfort, LED lights, heating lamps, and water vaporizer. The pergola is completed with different roofing, from panels in Nordic pine strips, to bamboo reed mats, to micro-perforated sheets. It can also be enriched with side curtains in micro-perforated fabric.<\/p>\n

A garden pavilion inspired by Asian simplicity is Toku, a design by Vincent Van Duysen<\/a> for Paola Lenti<\/strong>. It features a structure in cedarwood and fabric, with panels for seating with fixed or adjustable backrest in two different sizes.\u00a0The Toku series also features a cot with adjustable backrest and benches with wooden or fabric seating surfaces.<\/p>\n
