This conference, scheduled for Thursday, 1st October 2020, will be followed, on 15th October 2020 by \u201c<strong>The Contribution of Women in Contemporary Architecture: The Finnish Example<\/strong>.\u201d The initiative belongs to the architectural evenings promoted by the <strong>Foundation of the <\/strong><strong>Chamber of Architects of the Province of Milan<\/strong>, which, since its creation in 1998, has promoted a lively cultural activity.<\/p>\n<p>The cultural activity of the Chamber of Architects of the Province of Milan includes evenings of debate, architectural itineraries, publications, awards, exhibitions, and is a reference for professionals and architecture enthusiasts in Milan.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_147223\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-147223\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-147222\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/2b-architectes_La-Tuffie\u0300re-Corpataux_011-01_T.Jantscher_300dpi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"542\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-147223\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">La Tuffie\u0300re Corpataux, project by 2b architectes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The goal of this event, curated by architect <strong>Arianna Callocchia<\/strong>, is to highlight the role and the importance of women in architecture, creating an opportunity for comparison, professional exchange and constructive dialogue between Italian and international realities. During the conference, the designers will illustrate some works recently completed in Switzerland to present their approach and their design philosophy in contemporary architecture as to environmental sustainability, technological innovation, building redevelopment, the relationship with the historical, cultural and urban context in which we live.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_147225\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-147225\" style=\"width: 933px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-147224\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/2b-architectes_Tour-Moinat-Echandens_CF032902_M.Keller_300dpi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"933\" height=\"700\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-147225\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tour Moinat Echandens, project by 2b architectes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After the keynote speech by <strong>Barbara Soro<\/strong>, Consul Chamber of Architects of the Province of Milan, and <strong>Sabrina Dallafior<\/strong>, Consul General of Switzerland in Milan, the conference will go on with speeches by <strong>Stephanie Bender<\/strong>, 2b architectes, Lausanne, and <strong>Anne-France Aguet<\/strong>, architect from Mendrisio, moderated by <strong>Maria Vittoria Capitanucci<\/strong>, architectural historian, Politecnico di Milano. <strong>Stephanie Bender<\/strong> will present some projects completed in Switzerland, selected for their innovative characteristics and their relationship with the historical and urban context. <strong>Anne-France Aguet<\/strong> will illustrate the project of the Filanda, a new cultural center recently opened in Mendrisio.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_147227\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-147227\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-147226\" src=\"https:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Arch.Aguet_La-Filanda_Mendrisio.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"570\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-147227\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">La Filanda, cultural center in Mendrisio, project by Anne-France Aguet<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This conference is promoted by the <strong>Chamber of Architects of the Province of Milan<\/strong>, <strong>Italian Council of Architects<\/strong>, <strong>Consulate General of Switzerland in Milan<\/strong>, <strong>SIA &#8211; The Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects<\/strong>, <strong>SIA &#8211; The Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects \u2013 International Section<\/strong>.
