A passageway running underneath the square connects the two buildings and the <strong>Schauspielhaus theater<\/strong>, creating a gateway to the arts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Discover also the<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/designdiffusion.com\/en\/2019\/07\/09\/doha-the-national-museum-of-qatar-by-ateliers-jean-nouvel\/\">National Museum of Qatar<\/a><\/strong><strong>, by Ateliers Jean Nouvel<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-154060\" src=\"http:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/847_10_Noshe_201201_N5-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1699\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>extension project<\/strong> by <strong>David Chipperfield Architects<\/strong> plays a fundamental role in the city\u2019s plan as it connects the square to the south and the new Garden of Art to the north, designed by Wirtz International Landscape Architects.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-154062\" src=\"http:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/847_10_Noshe_201201_N10-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1710\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Slender vertical fins in limestone define the outer shell and lend depth and three-dimensionality to the walls. All fa\u00e7ades are made with the same natural stone used for local historical buildings and the existing Kunsthaus Z\u00fcrich building. A large open staircase leads to the exhibition areas on the two upper floors and connects the building and the city. The ground floor hosts public areas such as the caf\u00e9\/bar, events halls, the bookshop and museum education services.
