Eleventh edition for Clerkenwell Design Week, the independent design festival taking place in London from 24 to 26 May 2022<\/h2>\n

The eleventh edition of Clerkenwell Design Week<\/a> celebrates design in London’s most creative neighborhood. CDW, the UK’s leading independent design festival, returns from 24 to 26 May 2022<\/strong> as a platform for exhibitions, talks, special events and 125 resident showrooms.<\/p>\n

After a two-year forced hiatus due to the pandemic, the 2022 edition of Clerkenwell Design Week will feature ten exhibition venues, three of which are new<\/strong>. Among the participants with site-specific installations, Danish brand HAY will present outdoor furniture within The Long Walk, part of Crypt on the Green. Porsche car brand, official sponsor of the event, will be showcasing the Taycan within an interactive installation.<\/p>\n

Clerkenwell Design Week 2019<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

BAUX, a manufacturer of sustainable acoustic panels, will launch new acoustic ceiling panels made from wood wool<\/strong> at the BAUX House of Acoustics in the Old Sessions House. Designed by BAUX co-founders, international design studio Form us With Love, the installation will feature lectures and music during the three days of the festival. Billi Taps will be supplying free drinking water with taps located throughout Clerkenwell, from which visitors can feel up their bottles. Artist and designer Lois O’Hara will also be creating colorful visual installations throughout the neighborhood across the three days.<\/p>\n

Conversations at Clerkenwell<\/h3>\n

Among the highlights of <\/strong>Clerkenwell Design Week are <\/strong>Conversations at Clerkenwell, talks and seminars<\/strong> on the current design scene. Also this year the talks series will take place in Spa Fields in Islington. Curated by Katie Richardson, Conversations at Clerkenwell 2022 will host conferences on New London Architecture among others. New London Architecture will explore the impact of the new post-pandemic work pattern on the development of cities. Also Jonas Pettersson from Swedish design studio Form us With Love will discuss the future of design after the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Designer Adam Nathaniel Furman and architectural historian Joshua Mardell<\/strong>, co-editors of Queer Spaces<\/em> for RIBA Books, will share some examples of Queer Spaces from around the world<\/strong>. Benchmark will join a panel on wellness, alongside Trifle*, looking specifically at workplace design in line with today\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n

CDW\u2019s exhibitions<\/h3>\n

with a different curatorial focus, ranging from cutting edge international design to emerging talent, lighting, luxury interiors and the best of British design<\/strong>. The exhibitions are linked by a route running through the center of the area making the visit easier. Among the various exhibitions, RAK Ceramics sponsors Covered, an exhibition dedicated to interior surfaces.<\/p>\n

Also new for 2022 is the participation of Ceramics Tiles of Italy showcasing nine ceramic brands in collaboration with ITA \u2013 Italian Trade Agency. Clerkenwell\u2019s subterranean House of Detention, previously a prison in the mid-19th century, will showcase Light + Rising Stars, where a host of new and upcoming designers will exhibit alongside leading lighting brands. POP, the former cold store turned nightclub, will host other immersive installations.<\/p>\n

Clerkenwell\u2019s showrooms<\/h3>\n

Over the past 20 years, more and more international brands have opened their permanent showrooms in the Clerkenwell area, and many of them participate in Clerkenwell Design Week. For the 2022 edition, 125 showrooms will open their doors to visitors across the three days. Among the various brands we can mention Arper, Ethimo and Natuzzi <\/strong>from Italy, Andreu World and Kettal from Spain, Morgan Furniture from the UK, Fritz Hansen and others among the best-known brands.<\/p>\n
