In 2023, Triennale di Milano <\/strong>celebrates its centenary with a series of exhibitions and events<\/h2>\n

Triennale di Milano<\/a><\/strong> is <\/strong>celebrating its centenary\u00a0in 2023<\/strong>, and has planned a series of activities for the occasion. Triennale di Milano, in fact, was born in Monza in 1923 as the Biennale delle Arti Decorative; since 1933 it has become Triennale, held in Milan, at the Palazzo della Triennale.<\/p>\n

For the coming years, Triennale has a strategic plan called “Design the Future”; this plan aims to clarify the institutional vision and make a concrete and measurable commitment over time<\/strong>. It also defines Triennale di Milano’s priority areas of action for the 2022-2026 period. This strategic plan includes four macro-objectives. The first is related to public engagement, while the second involves strengthening Triennale’s reputation as a space of innovation, multidisciplinarity and openness. The third concerns the enhancement of Triennale as a place for research and experimentation. Finally, the fourth goal concerns the organizational model, to make it more agile and create interaction with citizens. On the dedicated website, future.triennale.org<\/a>, it is possible to follow project developments and learn more about the issues involved.<\/p>\n

Triennale\u2019s schedule for 2023<\/h3>\n

For the centennial celebration, Triennale has organized a rich program of events for 2023. Three major exhibition projects will mark this anniversary. Museo del Design Italiano<\/strong> returns from April 15 with a new exhibition path<\/strong> from its founding in 1923 to the present. The exhibition “Triennale. Home Sweet Home”, curated by Nina Bassoli<\/strong>, from May to September, reflects on the idea of home and living through the history of the Triennale and its International Exhibitions. The third exhibition, curated by Damiano Gull\u00ec<\/strong>, in October, focuses on the pictorial production of more than 100 artists active in Italy from the 1990s to the present.<\/p>\n

Triennale’s exhibition calendar in 2023 will also give space to great protagonists of architecture and design, such as Angelo Mangiarotti, in an exhibition curated by Fulvio Irace<\/strong>, from January 27 to April 23, 2023. There will a cycle of exhibitions around the permanent installation of Ettore Sottsass\u2019s Casa Lana<\/strong>, curated by Marco Sammicheli, in collaboration with Barbara Radice and Iskra Grisogono from Studio Sottsass.<\/p>\n

Other exhibitions will be dedicated to masters of photography, such as Gabriele Basilico, to whom the city of Milan is dedicating a tribute with two exhibitions, at Triennale and Palazzo Reale, scheduled for the fall.<\/p>\n

With the opening of the Museo del Design Italiano, Triennale is inaugurating a new space for temporary exhibitions with a focus on today’s design: the Design Platform. Located at the end of the Curve hosting the Museum, the Design Platform is hosting two projects curated by Marco Sammicheli in 2023: Text<\/strong> (April 15 \u2013 September 17) and Alberto Meda<\/strong> (October 2023 \u2013 January 2024).<\/p>\n

Moreover, the cultural partnership with Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain and other institutions continues for 2023. Lastly, Triennale will present the exhibition of the winners and finalists of the Italian Architecture Prize 2023, promoted with MAXXI.<\/p>\n
