Progetto Colore analyzed 62 buildings in Rapallo&#8217;s historic center to help designers working on their renovation. Rapallo is a coastal city that has been a tourist destination since the mid-19th century; the buildings involved in this project, therefore, are often in an advanced state of decay.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Discover the<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/designdiffusion.com\/en\/2022\/12\/06\/pantone-color-of-the-year-2023\/\">Pantone color of the year 2023<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-169328 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Progetto-colore-Rapallo_Boero-1.jpg\" alt=\"progetto colore rapallo\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Progetto Colore analyzed typical local colors to identify color ranges related to local tradition that are still legible and preserved today. These are color families inspired by local hues, earths, clays, stones and other local natural materials.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-169330 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Progetto-colore-Rapallo_Boero-2.jpg\" alt=\"progetto colore rapallo\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The methodology of this work has a scientific and design approach that entails several phases of <strong>fa\u00e7ade analysis making it possible to reconstruct the geometry of the decorations and explore the colors to facilitate the design phase<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-169332 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Progetto-colore-Rapallo_Boero-3.jpg\" alt=\"progetto colore rapallo\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1000\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3>Materials and colors in harmony with the area<\/h3>\n<p>The study of the materials of the buildings&#8217; exterior surfaces is also fundamental; plasters and color films, along with the nature of the ancient pigments and local execution techniques, play a key role. Boero and Francesca Salvarani\u2019s Progetto Colore, therefore, offers the possibility of creating a valuable database for reconstructing fa\u00e7ades and their colors. An innovative design tool that can be used for the chromatic design of historic and contemporary buildings.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-169334 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.designdiffusion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Progetto-colore-Rapallo_Boero-5.jpg\" alt=\"progetto colore rapallo\" width=\"964\" height=\"1500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The goals of this project are several. <strong>In addition to maintaining and restoring fa\u00e7ade decorations, the project allows for quality and durable interventions and preserves the historical recognizability of the fa\u00e7ade and the building<\/strong>. It also makes it possible to preserve local and \u2013 if possible \u2013 natural materials with related technologies and to use colors that are related to the life of the building and verified in context.
