During the Salone del Mobile 2024, HOST&HOME presents an exhibition dedicated to Thai design, between high craftsmanship and contemporary innovation <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The HOST&HOME<\/strong> project was established in 2015 by the Thai Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Department of International Trade Promotion<\/a> (DITP). This initiative was created to promote Thai design and support local entrepreneurs working in the hospitality sector in Italy and Europe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Anongnart Mahasawat<\/strong>, Director of Thai Trade Center Milan, said: \u201cHOST&HOME was created to showcase 12 companies and their values. It was created to shine a spotlight on Thai roots and lifestyle through furniture and lifestyle products that bring to life new uses. Through different production techniques, the 12 featured brands will showcase the local contemporary lifestyle while holding true to the traditional teachings.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brands on display<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The HOST&HOME exhibition (Hall 7, booth C18) offers an interpretation of the use of colors and lines closely related to nature. Moreover, the exhibition layout is inspired by traditional Thai architecture, reinterpreted with a contemporary twist. The brands of the 12 participating companies operate in different sectors such as textiles, ceramics or upholstery… Keep reading to discover the first six brands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agal<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Decor Agal<\/a> produces furniture, sculptures and paintings using ancient craft production processes. This year’s collection, Kaonashi bench, features sinuous shapes and dark colors that evoke the “kaonashi”, a mysterious “faceless” icon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amo Arte<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Amo Arte<\/a>, by A.M.O. Intergroup, blends creativity, sustainable design and craftsmanship in its products. Founded by Amonthep Kachanonda, Amo Arte aims to redefine furniture, interiors and decoration by showing the inherent beauty of natural materials, particularly bamboo and sugar palm. With a focus on creating eco-friendly products, Amo Arte is committed to both artistic excellence and environmental awareness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deesawat<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Deesawat<\/a> is an outdoor furniture brand established in 1972 specializing in teak wood products. It designs versatile furniture collections \u2013 including flooring, doors and custom items \u2013 that can be customized to meet different tastes and needs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenkoon<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Kenkoonex was the first company to introduce Thai outdoor furniture to the international market, especially Sweden, in the late 1990s. The company specializes in designing nautical accessories and furniture for luxury resorts and hotels, combining teak wood with stainless steel. Over the years, the company has perfected its know-how and designed high-quality indoor and outdoor furniture that is now available in Europe, Australia, and North America. Kenkoon<\/a> collections by Kenkoonex have also received numerous awards including the Design Excellence Awards from Elle Decoration Magazine in the Furniture, Bathroom and Young Talent categories; Outstanding Outdoor furniture Awards from DEP (Department of Export Promotion), which is currently named DITP; Best Outdoor Accessories Design Award from International Casual Furniture Fair (Chicago, USA) and the Best Designer Award in Furniture Design from Silpakorn University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Masaya<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Established in 2016 by Asia Collection Co., Masaya<\/a> specializes in casting and working brass to make sculptures and garden decorations. It produces handcrafted brass furniture with a contemporary design with the lost-wax casting method, an age-old technique that makes it possible to create objects with organic shapes. This process must be carried out by hand and requires meticulous attention and great skill. Therefore, craftsmanship and skills, passed down from generation to generation, are the pride of this company. The fluidity and harmony of design and brass result in unique and luxurious products that are real eye-catchers and enhance the spaces around them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
