EDIT Napoli, the fair dedicated to editorial and authorial design<\/strong>, returns to the Archivio di Stato in Naples from October 11-13, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directed and curated by Emilia Petruccelli and Domitilla Dardi<\/strong>, this fair consolidates itself as a springboard for new exhibitors, confirming its distinctiveness also in terms of scouting new brands and as a place of targeted visibility for established companies, designers and internationally renowned creatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A successful fair<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although it has never focused on numerical quantity, EDIT Napoli’s attendance figures attest to its growth, with a steady increase of about 20 percent<\/strong> in exhibitors from year to year and a fivefold increase in attendance since the first edition, so much so that the fair is among the must-attend events on the international design calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What initially appeared to be a bet on a city off the usual design routes, in fact, now identifies cultural pluralism and effervescence as an active scene for the design world, which here finds a community dimension and unconventional dialogue. Central in defining the event is the effort in presenting new products, underscored by the EDIT Napoli prize for the best new product presented at the fair, and by an international jury that has seen great protagonists over the years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why more and more companies and designers are choosing Naples to present their new products, aware of the added value of participating in a selective fair with a curatorial team <\/strong>that defines a precise perimeter followed by professionals in the sector. A focused attention on high-quality products and projects, unique yet replicable, characterized by slow and sustainable production, based on a short and transparent supply chain<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protagonists of EDIT CULT 2024<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Also this year, EDIT CULT will include a series of widespread exhibitions and installations that will enhance some of the city’s most iconic and historic sites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cassina, ALPI and Allegra Hicks<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Participating in EDIT CULT 2024 are Cassina, which will present a tribute to Neapolitan architect Filippo Alison <\/strong>at the Palazzo Reale. Taking center stage are the Hill House 1<\/em> chair and the Willow 1<\/em> armchair, iconic models part of the Cassina iMaestri Collection, <\/strong>among the protagonists of the installation telling a story that connects the city of Naples to the world of international editorial design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ALPI will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a retrospective at the Real Museo Mineralogico, displaying unique wooden creations by international designers<\/strong>. Among others, there will be wooden totems with irregular geometries by Konstantin Grcic, prisms by Angelo Mangiarotti, and three archaic forms designed by Alessandro Mendini. The pieces will enter into dialogue with the crystalline forms of natural minerals in the prestigious museum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, Allegra Hicks will present a work inspired by the myth of the siren Parthenope<\/strong> and the egg she laid before she died, which is said to be hidden in the foundations of Castel dell’Ovo. Hicks’ work will be displayed at the Ipogeo dei Cristallini, an evocative site and a testament to Hellenistic painting and architecture, located in the heart of the Rione Sanit\u00e0-Vergini. In a symbolism that recalls the myth of the mermaid, Hicks’ work, just like the egg protagonist of the legend, will find its place in an underground space, fostering reflection on the fragility of beauty and its protection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alcantara, Abet Laminates, Claudia Campone and Incalmi<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Teatro San Carlo<\/strong> will host the sets for Giuseppe Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” created by architect Kengo Kuma<\/strong> for Alcantara<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABET Laminati<\/strong> will present “Abet \u00e8 1000 colori…,”<\/strong>an installation that pays a tribute to the Naples. The company will present its products in an unprecedented way on the terrace of the Subsidiary Headquarters of the State Archives in the Pizzofalcone district<\/strong>. Interpreting the spirit of the company that promotes projects of free creative exploration on surfaces, design curators Giulio Iacchetti<\/strong> and Matteo Ragni<\/strong> have conceived for EDIT Napoli an evocative installation between metaphor and illusion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also returning to EDIT Napoli is designer Claudia Campone<\/strong>, who, with her creative studio THiRTYONE Design + Management <\/strong>and with the collaboration of Paolo Milani<\/strong>, Francesca Borghi<\/strong> and Benedetta Fazzolari<\/strong>, will create an installation in the Museo Civico<\/strong> Gaetano Filangieri<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
