HOST&HOME <\/strong>is a project developed by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand since 2015, through the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), <\/strong>to support local entrepreneurs in the perspective of designing and creating different, unique lifestyle products.

The goal is to create modern design products that can be placed in contexts such as hotels, homes, or residences and that can make people used to frequent traveling always feel at hom<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Anongnart Mahasawat<\/strong>, director of Thai Trade Center, Milan, says \u201cThe Department of International Trade Promotion has a policy to promote and support Thai entrepreneurs in the furniture industry to participate in important world trade exhibitions, particularly the Salone del Mobile <\/strong>international furniture exhibition which is held every year during Milan Design Week<\/strong> in Milan, Italy. This considered as an important world trade exhibition for presenting the work of Thai entrepreneurs in the furniture industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020-2021 the world faced the COVID-19<\/strong> pandemic, which affected international trade activities and caused trade shows to be suspended. However, since 2022<\/strong> trade exhibitions around the world have resumed their normal activities. Thailand did not miss the opportunity to return to Salone del Mobile in 2022.<\/strong> Designers from Italy, a country that plays an important role in the global furniture industry, have worked to share knowledge and concepts in product development in the furniture and home decoration industry with Thai entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2023<\/strong>, the Department of International Trade Promotion has been collaborating with famous Italian designer Matteo Ragni from Matteo Ragni Design Studio<\/strong>, providing Thai entrepreneurs with advice and consultation in product development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024<\/strong> the Department of International Trade Promotion has selected fifteen Thai entrepreneurs<\/strong> to join the product development activity with Matteo Ragni<\/strong> for Salone del Mobile 2025<\/strong>, within the Host & Home<\/strong> project. This year both development and consultation have focused on enhancing the potential and capabilities of fifteen Thai entrepreneurs famous for their craftsmanship, meticulous production skills and international standards. The furniture and home decoration products of the fifteen companies<\/strong> all reflect the concept of “The Golden Age of Thai Soft Power<\/strong>“, in line with the Thai government’s policy on the promotion of products and services that can highlight  Thai identity internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Salone del Mobile, 8-13 April 2025<\/strong>, the Thailand Pavilion<\/strong> will be located at Building 7<\/strong>, booth number D18<\/strong>. This year it will be special edition because the Department of International Trade Promotion<\/strong> has expanded the space of Thailand Pavilion  from 100 to 200 square meters<\/strong> to welcome an expected increase in number of buyers and visitors. The Pavilion will present furniture and home decoration products from fifteen Thai entrepreneurs<\/strong>, who have received advice and development from famous Italian designer Matteo Ragni<\/strong>, under the Host & Home<\/strong> project. They include: Amo Arte, Agal, Bendi-Bangkok, Corner 43 D\u00e9cor, Deesawat, Eggwhite, Kenkoon, Masaya, Mobella, Moonler, Muller, Res, TakeHomeDesign, T Thaniya, and Touchable. The Department of International Trade Promotion is also involved.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Golden Age of Thai Soft Power<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Exhibition Stand<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Designed by Matteo Ragni, the stand is conceived as a precious container with gold-finished external walls. Inside, the gray-black walls and flooring create a neutral backdrop that enhances the vibrant colors of the exhibited products. The layout is fluid and unrestricted, with no partitions, to allow visitors to explore all the featured brands<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each company is given a dedicated exhibition space while preserving the identity of a single, cohesive display area representing the uniqueness of Thai culture. Once again, unity is strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an entirely in-house wood processing system, Deesawat produces highly customizable products tailored to any project needs. Their product line includes flooring, doors, outdoor furniture, and bespoke pieces. With its commitment to bespoke design and customization, the company offers customers the ability to create unique, high-quality wooden furniture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Matteo Ragni has designed \u201cGroove<\/strong>\u201d for the company\u2014a large teak table designed for hosting guests under a tree or umbrella, whether at sunset or under a starlit sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A precise architectural shape, the table consists of long planks arranged to create a simple yet sophisticated geometry, with a 45-degree joint connecting top to legs. The central groove of the tabletop can be made from a single plank or various wood scraps, making each table unique. Individual elements can be arranged to form different color combinations according to the natural patterns of wood grain. Some elements can even be replaced with tray modules made of different materials, such as cast bronze or folded sheet metal. By removing a single piece, the table allows for the insertion of an umbrella base, adjustable to the sun\u2019s position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years, the company has established its own concept of interior and exterior furniture design through a combination of Asian art and architecture, especially for the luxury hotel and resort sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They develop practical, unique furniture and provide new perspectives to commonly used objects. The fluidity and harmonization of design and brass in which they specialize result in a unique and luxurious product that enhances any room or area in which it is placed.
