It is possible to register for the first edition of DoorScape until 15 January 2023. The new international architecture competition is promoted by OIKOS Venezia and Fondazione Querini Stampalia
Oikos, a leading Venetian company in the design of high-end entrance doors, and Fondazione Querini Stampalia announce the first edition of DoorScape, a new international competition for the architecture of home entrances.
Architects and designers sometimes underestimate the importance of the area before the doorway. The entrance area of a house represents the transition from a public to a private space, more intimate and cozier. Depending on different tastes, needs and cultures, entrance areas can take on different connecting functions, reflecting the spirit of the place and conveying different emotions and sensations, depending on who enters.
Rules and regulations of the new DoorScape international architecture competition
To participate in DoorScape contestants must register no later than 15 January 2023. For this first edition, conceived by Oikos Venezia together with Fondazione Querini Stampalia, participants are invited to design an entrance space that expresses the function of access to a place taking into account its different cultural, functional and formal meanings.
The competition is open to architects, engineers, designers, creatives and architecture students. Participation is free. Preferential requirements are a degree in architecture and having practiced the profession.
The project to be realized must concern the space that precedes and follows the access to the inhabited place. For more information, see the full version of the competition announcement on DoorScape.eu.

The participants’ works will be evaluated and by an international commission of top experts in the field, specialized in different areas.
