‘To face the burning World, the Architecture should manage to employ all the intelligence which surrounds us’ – these are Carlo Ratti’s words. Engineer and architect, he is the Curator of the 19th INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE EXHIBITION – La Biennale di Venezia, that will open its doors to public on May, 10th, 2025. Entitled ‘INTELLIGENS. NATURAL. ARTIFICIAL. COLLECTIVE.’, the Exposition aims to offer solutions and formulas, which should help to solve the current World emergency situation. The President of the Venice Biennale, Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, defines it as a ‘Visionary Exhibition’.

The sea and its relationship with the land

Contextually, the Italian Pavilion, curated by Guendalina Salimei, will face the SEA and EARTH relation. ‘TERRÆ AQUÆ. Italy and the intelligence of the sea’ is the theme of this year’s edition. The project has been selected by the Italian Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli, along with the Commission, headed by Angelo Piero Cappello. So, Open Call for a Better World!

A new beginning for Qatar, exhibiting at the Biennale: according to the Protocol of collaboration, signed between Qatar Museums and Comune di Venezia, in June of 2024, the State of Qatar will start building its own permanent Pavilion at the Biennale Giardini. In the meanwhile, for this Architecture season, Qatar will hold a double installation performance: at the place where their exhibition Hall will soon rise up and at Palazzo Franchetti (as last year).
