CottoMilano by Keope: the soul of terracotta reinvented for contemporary design

Ceramiche Keope unveils CottoMilano — a bold ceramic collection that reimagines Milanese terracotta through innovation, craftsmanship, and architectural vision

Ceramiche Keope presents CottoMilano, a new porcelain stoneware collection that bridges the heritage of Lombard terracotta with the refined language of contemporary architecture. Rooted in the historic Fornace Curti—a Milanese kiln active since the 1400s—this collection captures the depth of tradition and translates it into a forward-looking, design-driven material.

Milanese terracotta: a unique material reimagined

Unlike the soft pinks of Tuscan terracotta, Milanese terracotta is iron-rich and intensely red—expressive, warm, and steeped in history. With CottoMilano, Keope brings this material back to life in a modern ceramic format, offering tactile surfaces, deep tones, and natural matte finishes that speak the language of interior design and architecture today.

An ancient material that today sheds its rustic aura to become a sophisticated, versatile, and cosmopolitan choice, in line with the demands of contemporary design.

Design meets technology: a sensory ceramic experience

Designed by Domenico Orefice in collaboration with Keope’s R&D team, CottoMilano integrates invisible technology to elevate craftsmanship and ceramic performance. The result is a collection with soft chromatic depth, tactile richness, and innovative finishes, including:

  • ULTRAmatt (patent pending): ultra-matte, soft-touch, easy to clean
  • Glossy (6×124 cm): reflects and amplifies light
  • Structured R11 (60×60 and 120×120 cm): slip-resistant and ideal for outdoor use

A color palette for global architecture

CottoMilano comes in a versatile color palette, perfect for global and urban projects. Warm, earthy tones like Terracotta, Sabbia, and Creta are balanced by refined neutrals such as Argilla and Talco, creating a harmonious mix for any design vision.

The collection embraces large-format ceramics like 120×120 and 60×120 cm, offering seamless surfaces ideal for contemporary interiors and international architecture projects.

Terracotta reimagined for the present and future

In a world increasingly dominated by digital and immaterial experiences, CottoMilano brings us back to the essence of material, gesture, and physical connection. This collection invites architects and designers to rediscover the warmth, depth, and authenticity of terracotta—redefined through innovation and Italian craftsmanship.

CottoMilano is more than a product—it’s a design philosophy rooted in memory, yet projected toward the future. It enhances living spaces with a unique blend of heritage, technology, and contemporary sensibility.
