“Tigullio Your New Design Experience”: From April 20 to 26, the fifth edition of the widespread festival connects design with the deep blue of the Mediterranean
As Milan lights up for Design Week, Liguria responds with its most authentic and visionary soul. Tigullio Design District (TDD) returns for its fifth edition, consolidating its status as the first international “waterfront” event dedicated to design culture. Created by the Associazione Culturale Liguria Design, the event will transform the seven pearls of the Gulf—Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Zoagli, Chiavari, Lavagna, and Sestri Levante—into an open-air laboratory where innovation meets the Blue Economy.
The official inauguration will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Parco di Villa Rocca in Chiavari, featuring the “Time and Tide” fashion show curated by CNA Federmoda Genova, marking the start of a week that promises to redefine the boundaries of Ligurian creativity.

“Where is Design Heading?”: The 2026 Theme
This year, Tigullio Design District poses a crucial question: “Where is Design Heading?”. It is a collective reflection exploring the trajectories of technological innovation and environmental responsibility. The district is not just a showcase, but a privileged observatory for strategic sectors: from nautical excellence to eco-sustainable materials, and from outdoor furniture to high-end lifestyle.
Recognized by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, TDD 2026 confirms its role as a regional hub capable of attracting designers and companies from all over the world, thanks also to its partnership with Milan’s Fuorisalone and the addition of prestigious new allies like NYCxDESIGN.

A Widespread Calendar Between Alleys and Marinas
The “open space” format of Tigullio Design District allows visitors to experience design in iconic locations: historic squares, marinas, schools, and showrooms will open their doors for talks, workshops, and performances. Highlights of this edition include:
- Blue Hub: An exclusive focus on the Gulf’s shipyards.
- International Delegation: An exhibition featuring 40 designers from Peru, in collaboration with Lima Design Week.
- Design 4 Future: Four major nautical-themed events with the Lega Navale Italiana.
- Tradition and Future: A celebration of the lightweight Chiavari chair and the “Best Shop” 2026 award.

Territorial Synergies and the Excellence of COVIM
The success of Tigullio Design District lies in its ability to build a network. With the patronage of the Liguria Region and the Genoa Chamber of Commerce, the event unites the entire Riviera into a creative ecosystem. A major highlight this year is the collaboration with COVIM, the renowned local company and global symbol of Italian espresso, which debuts as the Official Coffee Partner TDD 2026.
