Don’t Call It an Office
Actiu’s new creative hub is designed to connect talent, well-being, and international visions
Madrid has a new epicenter for design culture. To coincide with the Madrid Design Festival, the Spanish company Actiu has inaugurated Actiu RED, an exclusive institutional space located in the iconic Lagasca 99 building, in the prestigious Salamanca district.
But take note: this is not just another showroom. Actiu RED is born as the first “node” of a global network designed for the exchange of knowledge. It is a design embassy where architects, creatives, and well-being scientists meet to spark conversations capable of redefining the future of living and working spaces.
“Roots”: A Dialogue Between Industry and Material
In parallel with the opening of the Lagasca 99 space, Actiu presented the installation “Roots” at the Fiesta Design headquarters. Created in collaboration with artist Regina Dejiménez, the work uses wool as a conducting element to tell the story of the bond between territory, craftsmanship, and industry.
At the center of the installation sits the famous Badminton armchair, surrounded by textile volumes that evoke landscape and sustainability. It is a sensory journey demonstrating that contemporary design cannot be detached from its natural and cultural roots.
