SKS conquers Chicago with a showroom designed by Lissoni

The new SKS Chicago showroom, designed by Lissoni Architecture New York inside The MART, transforms kitchens into a theatrical and immersive experience

The SKS Chicago showroom officially opens inside The MART, an iconic building and a key reference point for the creative community of the Midwest. The luxury brand of built-in appliances chooses one of the most representative destinations of American design to express its vision, blending technology, architecture, and aesthetic research.

Covering an area of over 850 square meters, the space presents itself as an experiential platform that merges interior architecture, product, and visual storytelling.

A project signed by Piero Lissoni

Designed by Piero Lissoni with Lissoni Architecture New York, the project evokes the atmosphere of a contemporary theater. Here, SKS appliances take on the role of true protagonists, engaging directly with the industrial character of the historic building that hosts them.

The concept transforms the showroom into a mutable stage, where each environment tells a different story through dedicated lighting, materials, and scenographic elements.

Five kitchens, five identities

Inside the SKS Chicago showroom, five bespoke kitchens take shape as exclusive sets. Each environment expresses a distinct language, ranging from Transitional to Modern style, showcasing the aesthetic and functional potential of the brand’s products.

At the center of the space, a six-meter dining table, flanked by large LED screens, becomes the focal point of an immersive experience combining culinary projections and visual content, reinforcing the connection between technology and conviviality.

Material, light, and the memory of place

Neutral and natural materials create a refined balance with the original architecture of The MART. The white oak flooring interacts with walls and columns hand-finished with Roman stucco in earthy tones, enhancing the imperfections of the pre-existing structure. The exposed ceilings emphasize the authentic character of the space, strengthening the visual continuity between its industrial past and contemporary language.

Details and finishes reveal the soul of the project: a narrative, dynamic, and sophisticated space capable of conveying the identity of a brand that is a leader in the world of luxury appliances.
