The Salone del Mobile.Milano is the shining star of global design, able to promote innovation, material and immaterial culture. The event lived up to all expectations: it showed visions of the future and established new connections, involving different sectors and a wide audience.

The solutions selected by DDN for the gallery of this issue dedicated to Milan Design Week 2024 – from furniture characterized by bright colors, enveloping shapes, original geometries to natural materials and sustainable solutions – are the result of creative and production excellence. At the same time, Fuorisalone events were characterized by a new allure, spread in different locations with a more refined atmosphere.

Thanks to clear guidelines and greater organizational awareness, formats were better selected and concepts better developed, increasing the participation of selected audiences. The ephemeral architecture of Milan Design Week, both at the fair and in the city, transformed ideas into concrete forms, with booth designs enhancing corporate content, including those designed by Calvi Brambilla and Partners, Ferruccio Laviani, 967arch, and Antonio Citterio, and urban installations focused on circularity and environmental sustainability, such as those designed by Mario Cucinella Architects and Park Associati.

Leading Milan-based design firms, such as Nava + Arosio, Bernhardt&Vella and Takeda Katsuya, revealed universes of passion, commitment, vision, and concreteness, showing their creations for the most important design week in the world, in the city that they also consider to be the cradle of international creativity.
