Fruit Exhibition, the international market for independent paper and digital art publishing, will be back in Bologna from 1 to 3 February 2019
Fruit Exhibition (Bologna, Palazzo Isolani, 1-3 February 2019) is artists’ books, catalogues, graphic design projects, paper goods, zines and much more! The event, now in its seventh edition, is open to the public and will be held in the ancient palace overlooking Piazza Santo Stefano, one of the city’s most important places.
100 independent Italian and international publishers, among the best of all, will take part in it and the focus for 2019 is on humor. Because, to deal with culture in Italy today, a good dose of humor is needed as well as colors and a bit of lightheartedness. The common mental association culture = seriousness (i.e. boredom) must be overcome, with irony and the ability to surprise.This year’s new feature at Fruit Exhibition is the FIP – Fruit Indie Publishing Award, promoted with the historic Favini paper factory and aimed at selecting the best prototypes of art books, independent editorial projects and zines. Entering the competition is free and it is open to all the artists and publishers who will submit, in digital format, an unpublished editorial project focused on humor by 15 March 2019.
