For the Milan Design Week 2019, the students of Istituto Marangoni have created an architectural feature that represents the Innovation Design District
During Milan Design Week 2019, the Innovation Design District-IDD – the area between Porta Nuova and Porta Volta, Milan – will host IDD REFRAMED, the visual identity project created by the students of Istituto Marangoni.
The project stems from the contest ‘Riconoscere il distretto con uno sguardo’ (‘Recognizing the district at a glance’), promoted by IDD in collaboration with the design school. The panel, chaired by Mark Anderson, Director of Education at Istituto Marangoni Milano, appreciated its design and feasibility.Alan Vidal Garcia Cruz, Eric Alexander Batista Perez and Monika Sosnowska, the designers of the winning project, identified an iconic and repeatable architectural feature representing an area of the city whose symbols are design, art and technology.
The installations (the winning project and other two finalists), with their contemporary and stylized aesthetics, also inspired by the profiles of the new buildings that characterize the district, will be transformed into information points for visitors during the next Design Week, 9-14 April 2019.
