The President of Salone del Mobile.Milano, Claudio Luti, asks the Government for guarantees to confirm the September 2021 edition
On March 22, President Claudio Luti met with the Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, and the President of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana. After the meetings, the President stressed the desire to hold the 2021 edition of the Salone del Mobile from 5 to 10 September 2021. “However – said Luti – there are still some cruces to be solved, which are entirely independent of our possibilities.”
“To date, we have worked within the Salone del Mobile.Milano and with FederlegnoArredo, with the support of all the companies involved, to be ready to offer, in September after a long absence, the best possible event and the widest possible range of new products and creativity.
Everyone wants the Salone, both for business and to rediscover the socialization that has been missing so much in these very hard and painful pandemic months. But now it is essential that the institutions give us precise answers. We have asked the mayor and the Governor for support to make Milan, in September, with the Salone, the engine of the restart. But we are waiting for certainties from the Government.”

“The Salone del Mobile.Milano is our valuable tool to restart. For the sector, for Milan, for the whole country – continued Claudio Luti, confirmed as President of the Salone del Mobile.Milano with the new Federlegno Arredo Eventi corporate structure. For this reason, in a note addressed to the competent ministers and Fiera Milano, we have asked for clarity on the possibility of resuming fairs. Only if fairs are given the green light from 6 April will we be able to confirm our work.”

The cruces to be solved
To confirm the dates of the Salone del Mobile.Milano in September, it is necessary to have the precise date to resume fairs in the next Decrees, and a defined vaccine plan. Only with an adequate number of vaccinated people, Italy can be considered a safe country for foreign visitors. Moreover, the issue of the “Digital green pass” to access the fair must be solved. And we must consider also the time for the resumption of international flights.
“In support of this, we are asking for an international promotion campaign for the Salone del Mobile to mark this moment as the first real economic and social relaunch not only in Italy. There a few weeks left for the protocols and guarantees to be defined. In the meantime, we will continue to work tirelessly to be ready in September.
In order to achieve all this – concluded President Luti – it is equally important that companies are united, trust the Salone and continue to believe in the importance of being there all together to show the great strength of the system.”
