At EuroCucina 2022 material experimentation, technology and innovation
EuroCucina, the biennial exhibition dedicated to the world of kitchen furnishings, returns in 2022. EuroCucina, which will be held from 7 to 12 June, simultaneously with the Salone del Mobile.Milano, at the Rho-Fieramilano exhibition center, is the industry’s leading event; an opportunity for the best Italian and foreign companies in the sector to meet and exchange views, and a unique moment to discover new trends.

For the 23rd edition, EuroCucina brings together 82 exhibitors, distributed over an area of 16,000 square meters, mainly in pavilions 9 and 11, but not only. In fact, the furniture companies showcasing a total living concept will present their kitchen proposals in their stands, in the other pavilions.
The kitchen: a multifunctional space
In recent years, the space dedicated to the kitchen has increasingly extended to the point of becoming one with the living room. As a result, the kitchen is today a multifunctional space, the focal point of the modern home, and no longer just a room destined for essential functions. Especially during the pandemic, the kitchen has become an occasional home office, a room for the kids’ study, a relaxation room.
At EuroCucina 2022, therefore, the proposals focus on functionality and typological and technological innovations. The island will still be the central element of the kitchen; apparently compact and impenetrable blocks reveal their multiple functions when needed – from lavishly equipped ‘laboratories of taste’ to contemporary family tables.
New accessories such as wine cellars, home greenhouses and laundry columns are increasingly present. Many companies are proposing elegant and versatile bookcases and wall-mounted or free-standing modules to integrate and, at the same time, ideally separate areas. Foldaway and walk-in kitchens are also coming back and, thanks to increasingly engineered door systems, they discreetly conceal equipment, appliances and larders.
Nowadays, some kitchen cabinets conceal home office equipment or multi-tasking snack tops that easily turn into work areas, consoles and desks. Lastly, the kitchen tends to extend outdoors, beyond the domestic walls, with highly accessorized solutions, either portable or fixed, that combine versatility, practicality and quality of materials and performance.
Sustainable materials
The sustainability of the products is most evident in the materials and finishes. At EuroCucina 2022, thanks to technological innovation, the new materials will boast improved surface hardness, resistance to chemicals, abrasion and impact as well as resistance to UV rays and thermal shocks, guaranteeing greater durability over time. The new finishes, like glass, sometimes reproduce the look of natural materials such as marble and wood, which are also present in the original version and keep the connection with nature alive.
