Margraf: a new look for its showroom, blending innovation and sustainability

Margraf presents the redevelopment of the Margraf Logistic Hub Area, with new exhibition spaces aimed at a more sustainable future.

Margraf, a leader in the processing and commercialization of marble and natural stones, continues its growth by focusing on advanced technologies and a steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability. The company reaffirms its dedication to leaving a more sustainable world for future generations.

In this context, two key initiatives stand out: the redevelopment of the Margraf Logistic Hub Area, designed by Metrogramma Studio, and the release of the 2023 Sustainability Report, which reaffirms the company’s strategic social and environmental objectives.

The redevelopment project

Starting this year, the Margraf Logistic Hub Area in Gambellara, located between Verona and Vicenza, is at the heart of a major redevelopment project led by Andrea Boschetti, founder of Metrogramma, along with a team of architects. The goal is to redefine the future of this industrial complex, which hosts the largest logistics hub for marble exhibition and distribution in Italy. The project involves rethinking the exhibition spaces, outdoor areas, and introducing new services, while maintaining a strong connection with the company’s tradition and contemporary values of sustainability, biodiversity, and innovation.

The new concept blends the essence of marble and quarries with a modern and sustainable vision. The result is a project that honors the company’s roots while elegantly and functionally looking towards the future. The showroom, with an area of over 15,300 square meters and the widest range of fine marbles, will undergo an architectural and exhibition transformation.

A new panoramic viewpoint

Among the new features, a standout addition is the introduction of a panoramic staircase made of perforated sheet metal in “Margraf orange,” culminating in an elevated amphitheater. From this vantage point, visitors will be able to admire the entire marble exhibition from a unique perspective.

A park to celebrate nature and design

The project also includes the creation of a 7,000 sqm park, situated in a currently flat rectangular area traversed by an underground technical path shaped like a “Y,” used by employees. This green space, visually connected to the showroom through a new glass façade, will become the heart of the Margraf Logistic Hub Area. It will serve as an oasis of nature and creativity, where visitors can immerse themselves in a journey that celebrates the territory, nature, and Margraf’s craftsmanship.

Sustainability Report

In addition to the redevelopment project, Margraf marks another milestone with the publication of its “Sustainability Report,” a document that transparently illustrates the results achieved in 2023 in the environmental and social spheres, highlighting the strategies adopted for a more sustainable future. Margraf demonstrates a clear commitment to investing in solutions that reduce environmental impact, such as the adoption of advanced technologies, landscape recovery projects, and initiatives for energy efficiency and the use of renewable resources.

More than one-third of the energy used by the company comes from its 9,900 photovoltaic panels, thereby strengthening one of the company’s goals of energy efficiency, which not only represents a competitive advantage but also aligns with the corporate policies for environmental mitigation. Margraf’s carbon emissions are about half the average in the ceramic industry. The company recovers and reuses 77% of the water used in production processes thanks to treatment plants powered by solar energy. Additionally, Margraf continues to invest in biodiversity protection by planting over 2,000 trees in its quarries to restore natural habitats.

At Margraf, respect for tradition perfectly combines with a constant pursuit of technological innovation, integrating the past with the future while fostering a greater awareness of corporate sustainability.
