Salone del Mobile 2025: Robert Wilson unveils an unprecedented cultural program featuring site-specific installations, the debut of Euroluce Forum, and the new “Thought for Humans” campaign

The 2025 edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano will open with Mother, a “total work of art” by Robert Wilson inspired by Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini. Set at the Pietà Rondanini Museum within the Sforza Castle, the installation will interact with Arvo Pärt’s Stabat Mater, creating a unique multisensory experience. Wilson, a master of light, reimagines Michelangelo’s masterpiece as a tribute to Milan and its artistic heritage, positioning the event within Milan Art Week, the prelude to Design Week.

The opening will feature a collaboration between Salone del Mobile and Teatro alla Scala for an exclusive evening event. The Night Before. Object Chairs Opera conducted by Michele Spotti, with Robert Wilson once again taking center stage.

Euroluce 2025: introducing the first international Lighting Forum

The 2025 edition of Euroluce introduces an innovative cultural format: The Euroluce International Lighting Forum, scheduled for April 10 and 11. Over two days of roundtables, workshops, and conferences, the forum will explore the relationship between light, architecture, and well-being. The event features an international panel of experts, including DRIFT, Kaoru Mende, Marjan van Aubel, and Robert Wilson himself.

The event aims to redefine the role of light in contemporary design, addressing topics ranging from sustainability to technological innovations.

A Communication “For Humans”: Thought for Humans.

The new communication campaign, entrusted to Dentsu Creative Italy, celebrates design as a response to human needs. Through the photography of Bill Durgin, the campaign explores the dialogue between the body, material, and space, emphasizing sustainability and the multidisciplinary nature of design.

Thought for Humans. embodies the role of Salone del Mobile as a global platform capable of connecting expertise and cultures, with a focus on improving the quality of life.

Salone del Mobile 2025: exhibitors, installations, and international highlights

With a sold-out announcement already made, Salone del Mobile 2025 will feature a lineup of leading exhibitors and four major site-specific installations by prominent contemporary artists. At the same time, the Salone’s international tour will continue in North America and Canada, with stops in cities such as Copenhagen, Paris, London, and Madrid, strengthening the dialogue between design culture and global markets.

SaloneSatellite celebrates 25 Years

SaloneSatellite celebrates a quarter of a century with the volume “Universo Satellite. 25 Years of SaloneSatellite,” curated by Beppe Finessi. A collection of over 1,200 images and documents showcases the contribution of young creatives to the contemporary design scene, turning the book into a true “wunderkammer” of design.
