Ambiente 2025 ready to unveil the future of design

From February 7 to 11, 2025, the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt will showcase the most innovative trends for home and workspaces: a journey through nature, sustainability, and creativity

Ambiente 2025, scheduled from February 7 to 11, promises to be a must-attend event for discovering how shapes, colors, and materials will redefine the home and workspaces of the future. At the heart of the showcase will be the “Ambiente Trends 25+,” curated by the Stilbüro bora.herke.palmisano agency, which has identified three overarching themes: DEEP, REAL, and EASE, inspired by emerging trends in fashion, art, interior design, and global lifestyle.

These trends, the result of meticulous research, explore the role of design as a catalyst for positive change in a world shaped by global challenges. Sustainability, artisanal craftsmanship, and the use of innovative technologies emerge as key creative drivers for designers, consumers, and industry professionals.

The 3 macro-themes of Ambiente 2025

DEEP celebrates the connection between design and nature, offering warm and reassuring atmospheres. Elements such as water, fire, and earth inspire authentic materials like wood, ceramic, glass, and metal. The color palette ranges from midnight blue to tea green, with metallic accents in dark bronze or soft gold that gently reflect light. At Ambiente 2025, traditional craftsmanship takes center stage, reinterpreting ancient techniques with a contemporary twist.

REAL, on the other hand, embraces radically simple design, where functionality and aesthetics intertwine to shape a more sustainable future. It highlights innovative materials such as recycled aluminum, ceramics with eco-friendly glazes, and composites born from waste recovery and transformation processes. Colors like bottle green, caramel, and aluminum gray create a timeless aesthetic, ideal for minimalist and modern spaces.

EASE embodies the joy of living through innovative use of fabrics and crafting techniques. Suspended threads, embroidery, and patchwork give rise to unique textures. Materials such as glass, paper, and ceramic blend in unexpected ways, creating tactile surfaces that invite interaction. The color palette ranges from soft sky blue to moss green, with vibrant oranges and purples, shaping spaces that inspire lightness and dynamism.

Interior Looks: the new hub of international design

An important new feature at Ambiente 2025 is the Interior Looks area in Hall 3.1, dedicated to premium furniture and decor brands. Curated by interior designer Bernd Schellenberg, this section aims to foster new international collaborations, with a focus on contract and hospitality sectors. Among the participants are Bielefelder Werkstätten, Fine Furniture, and Christine Kroencke Interior Design, who will showcase proposals for every space, from the bedroom to the living room.

The Lounge – Shades of Space

Shades of Space, an installation curated by German designer Fabian Freytag, will be one of the main attractions at Ambiente 2025. This experiential project explores the potential of artificial intelligence in design for the future hospitality sector.

The installation features a series of immersive environments, each generated through artificial intelligence algorithms that reinterpret hospitality spaces based on data such as:

  • the needs of guests,
  • local climate conditions,
  • the interaction between lights, materials, and volumes.

Visitors will be guided through futuristic scenarios ranging from real-time customizable suites to lobbies that adapt to the mood and flow of guests. Shades of Space demonstrates how AI can not only optimize resources but also create unique sensory experiences, transforming the traditional concept of hospitality into a tailor-made experience.

Networking and training: the added value of Ambiente

Ambiente 2025 fosters dialogue through its Academy program, focusing on sustainability, digitalization, and new ways of working. Among the main events:
