André’s Office, a dialogue between design and fashion

The temporary installation by the Milan-based design gallery Spazio RT at Senato Hotel Milano

Tells, through design, the vision of those who shape taste, define the lexicon, and guide the language of fashion. This is André’s Office, a temporary installation by Spazio RT – a Milan-based design gallery – set in the black courtyard of Senato Hotel Milano, on the occasion of Milan Fashion Week Men’s 2025.

An installation inspired by the charismatic and visionary figure of André Leon Talley

From June 13 to 24, the space imagines the ideal office of a fashion editor, drawing inspiration from the charismatic and visionary figure of André Leon Talley, the legendary fashion director of Vogue.
The exhibition route unfolds around a minimal architectural structure, both intimate and permeable: wooden panels, painted in a deep red, create deconstructed walls that let light and glimpses pass through.
Multiple viewpoints emerge, inviting the visitor to discover the world of those who shape the collective imagination. Every element, carefully chosen, translates the editor’s vision into form. The “office” becomes a narrative device – a place of work, reflection, and inspiration – prompting an experience of critical contemplation beyond mere aesthetic impact.

Iconic pieces of Italian design alongside furnishings from the Spazio RT Contemporary collection

The installation brings together iconic pieces of Italian design and furnishings from the Spazio RT Contemporary collection, creating a refined tension between past and present, contemporary design and cultured references.
At the forefront is a console table designed by Spazio RT, featuring a Gran Noir Antique marble top supported by cast bronze legs, acting as a visual anchor. The matching seat is suggested by a sculptural Carrara marble stool, signed by Sergio Calatroni for the Milanese gallery.
Behind it stands the Pioli bookcase (Spazio RT design), like a monolith, made from a single slab of Arabescato Orobico marble, with movable shelves supported by polished brass pegs.

At the center, a linear composition of five Notti floor lamps illuminates the space. Designed in the 1970s by Gigi and Pepe Tanzi for Dalca, they are characterized by a slender chrome steel stem and a cast iron base.
Nearby, the Djuna trio of coffee tables by Kazuhide Takahama, designed for Gavina in the early 1980s, balances the material weight of the Gran Noir Antique with the lightness of the chrome steel base.

The path is completed by Jumbito, the latest addition to Spazio RT Contemporary: a low table crafted from interlocked slabs of Carrara and Verde Guatemala marble, assembled in a pattern that echoes the traditional carabottino design. Created from leftover stone scraps, this object transforms waste material into a collectible piece. Accessible to all – not just hotel guests – ANDRÉ’S OFFICE offers a silent, suspended interlude: a place of stillness and observation amid the hectic rhythm of Milan Fashion Week.
