Studio Q-bic signs the interior design of the renewed Europa Palace Hotel, alongside Calvi Ceschia Viganò for the architectural project. A concept that blends contemporary elegance with Ligurian spirit in the heart of Sanremo
The Europa Palace Hotel in Sanremo returns as a landmark of Ligurian hospitality. After years of closure, the historic 1874 building has been completely renovated and transformed into a five-star hotel with a contemporary aesthetic and a strong connection to the city. The project involved Studio Q-bic for the interior design, working alongside Calvi Ceschia Viganò, responsible for the architecture and site management. The client’s goal was clear: to restore one of Sanremo’s iconic buildings and offer a new kind of experience for both guests and locals.

Confirming its new role as a city landmark, the Europa Palace Hotel Sanremo hosted several artists during the 75th Sanremo Music Festival and served as the venue for one of the most anticipated parties of the week.
Spaces designed for living
With its 5,500 square meters spread over seven floors, the new Europa Palace hosts 71 rooms, a wellness area, the Rêve Bistrot restaurant, and a panoramic rooftop terrace. On the ground floor, natural materials and industrial elements alternate in a fluid dialogue, enhanced by balanced color choices and furnishings by Molteni and Moroso.

The entrance welcomes guests with a basin of succulents, mirrors, and iron structures, while the lobby invites relaxation with elegant seating and a wall sculpture by Studio C\&C. Metal-framed portals lead to the restaurant area, where wooden boiserie, concrete-look flooring, and artificial lighting blend seamlessly with natural light effects.
Between Hospitality and Visual Identity
Every space reflects meticulous attention to detail. The Rêve Bistrot, also open to non-guests, is a clear example of aesthetic experimentation: at the center of the room, an upside-down olive tree and a cascade of Viabizzuno lights form a striking installation. On the back wall, Grigio Alpi stone by Grassi Pietre defines the bar area, while custom benches by HI-CONTRACT and Emmeti chairs complete the furnishing.

Even the restrooms reflect a coherent design vision, featuring corrugated metal ceilings and fully mirrored walls, creating a play of reflections that amplifies the space.
At Europa Palace Hotel, well-being takes shape
The spa and wellness area unfold in relaxing and sophisticated spaces. Classic travertine surfaces by Marazzi guide the eye and provide visual continuity. The pool, accompanied by water blades and light effects, is shielded by perforated panels that create evocative chiaroscuro patterns.

The emotional showers, saunas, and hammam offer a complete sensory experience, enhanced by Marset’s Roc lamps and the carefully designed lighting that highlights each space.
Custom design for an authentic welcome
On the upper floors, the rooms showcase bespoke design. Oak headboards are enriched with ceramic inserts from Marazzi’s Lume collection, varying in color and placement to make each room unique. Lighting by Flos, Marset, and iGuzzini complements the atmosphere, while all furnishings, designed by Q-bic, were crafted by HI-CONTRACT.

The dramatic effect is completed in the central staircase, where a “rain” of Noctambule lamps by Flos descends through the void framed by the iron-effect gres railing.
A Hotel that tells the Story of Italian Design
Europa Palace Hotel is a project that combines architecture, art, and hospitality. The selection of Italian brands such as Flos, Marazzi, Moroso, Molteni, Davide Groppi, and iGuzzini highlights the intent to create a strong identity, capable of engaging with the site’s history and meeting the needs of the contemporary traveler.
Sanremo thus rediscovers its icon, blending pieces of memory with a restyling marked by modernity.
