The 25th edition in Eindhoven explores design as an engine of experimentation and a sustainable future
Dutch Design Week 2025 celebrates its 25th anniversary with a theme that looks to the future while embracing its journey: Past. Present. Possible. From 18 to 26 October, Eindhoven transforms into a citywide lab of ideas and innovations, redefining the role of design in society.

A festival built on experimentation
For nine days, thousands of designers – from emerging talents to renowned names – present projects in public spaces, repurposed factories, studios, and city squares. The goal is not to showcase finished products but to share raw ideas, prototypes, and open questions that challenge the boundaries of design.

“Dutch Design Week is not a conventional exhibition, but a living lab for experimentation,” says Miriam van der Lubbe, Creative Head of DDW. “It’s where professionals, businesses, students, and audiences come together to test visions and imagine new scenarios.”
Past. Present. Possible: the design mindset
The theme of this edition encourages seeing design as a process that never ends. “Design thrives where there is room for what is unfinished, unknown, and yet to be imagined,” Miriam continues.
Dutch Design Week 2025 becomes an opportunity to explore the present with a perspective open to possibilities, avoiding fixed solutions and instead embracing new directions.

From local roots to a global network
Founded in 2001 as Designers Present, the event has grown into an international platform connecting design with technology, ethics, ecology, economics, and health. The 25th edition renews this vision, staying true to the grassroots spirit that made DDW a global benchmark for independent and sustainable design.

The program includes interactive installations, circular prototypes and visionary concepts. Starting Sept. 1, the full schedule will be available, and reservations for company tours are already open on the official website ddw.nl/tours.
A creative hub shaping the future
Every October, Eindhoven becomes the beating heart of a creative movement that has featured names such as Studio Drift, Maarten Baas, Piet Hein Eek, Marjan van Aubel, Julia Watson, Yinka Ilori, and André Doxey.
Dutch Design Week 2025 confirms itself as a leading platform for those exploring the challenges of the future with an inclusive, sustainable, and innovative approach.
