An open space for all ages in the renovated Piano Parco, featuring creative activities, free play, and workshops inspired by Triennale Milano exhibitions
Triennale Milano has inaugurated Gioco, an innovative creative space for children in Milan designed to stimulate imagination and creativity. Located within the fully renovated Piano Parco, open to the public since last May, Gioco welcomes children of various ages, offering active play, guided workshops, and free play opportunities throughout the day.

Modular and Sustainable Design
The space was designed by AR.CH.IT Luca Cipelletti, while the modular furnishings were created by the French studio smarin. Cork blocks and fir wood panels, assembled without nails or screws, allow the creation of seating, desks, beds, partitions, or play structures. This flexible design makes Gioco a versatile environment, capable of quickly transforming into workspaces, art studios, screening rooms, or relaxation areas.

Family-Friendly Services
Gioco provides services to make visiting with children easier: stroller parking, personal lockers, water dispensers, and a restroom with a changing table. Cucina Triennale offers a menu dedicated to children, available for snacks, lunch, or dinner, complementing the experience with moments of rest and socialization.

Workshops, Educational Activities, and Learning Paths
Within the space, children can participate in creative workshops inspired by Triennale exhibitions and shows. Educational activities are available for schools of all levels, including interactive workshops and design projects. Until November 9th, special workshops connected to Inequalities, the 24th International Exhibition, offer stimulating and educational experiences for children.

Accessibility and Inclusion
The Gioco library features books and illustrated albums in Italian and English, including titles in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), silent books, and books introducing Italian Sign Language (LIS). Triennale’s Album Junior series offers illustrated publications with activities and insights related to the exhibitions, encouraging creative thinking and concentration.

Events and Educational Moments for Adults and Children
Gioco also hosts public program events for families, such as Officina Famiglie Let’s Talk!, a series of meetings on emotional education, food education, and gender identity. This space is part of Triennale’s 2022–2026 strategic plan and Family Manifesto, promoting accessibility and hospitality for all family members.

The Piano Parco: Architectural and Cultural Redevelopment
The opening of Gioco is part of the largest architectural and functional redevelopment of Triennale Milano’s Piano Parco, covering 2,300 sqm of interior spaces and 7,300 sqm of gardens, portico, and facade. This project reinforces Triennale as a hub of culture, creativity, and innovation in the heart of Milan.
