Where art smolders slowly: “In Our Real Life” at Circolo UltraFiorucci

An immersive exhibition of fire, memory, and contemporary poetics transforms Fiorucci’s creative space into a multi-sensory encounter

From October 15 to November 2, 2025, Circolo UltraFiorucci hosts In Our Real Life, a solo exhibition by artist Jason Hendrik Hansma, curated by The Community. The space at Via Lomazzo 19 becomes a liminal environment where fire, memory, and time converge.

The show invites visitors to slow down, observe, and experience art beyond the visual. It’s a fully immersive and contemplative journey across light, scent, and material.

A new visual language of material and emotion

Hansma’s installation includes:

  • a monumental LED wall film composed of wildfire video clips,;
  • six large-scale paintings created in collaboration with traditional Milanese gilders;
  • a black carpeted floor dusted with silver residue;
  • deep firewood incense;
  • crimson lighting that transforms the entire atmosphere.

The result is a liminal, dreamlike space that encourages visitors to breathe, reflect, and enter an altered state of attention.

Art as a living experience

Jason Hendrik Hansma works within transitional and marginal spaces, such as hallways, thresholds, or curtains moved by wind. His practice questions how we relate to space, time, and each other, using materials like ancestral textiles, film, and sound.

With In Our Real Life, Circolo UltraFiorucci once again becomes a place of sensitivity and experimentation, where contemporary art, memory, and ecological awareness merge.
