An international opportunity for emerging and established artists
In today’s ever‑evolving world of contemporary art, the Lab Art Prize stands out as a pivotal platform for visual creatives seeking international exposure.
Presented by Malamegi Lab, the prize invites participation from a broad spectrum of artists—whether emerging talents or seasoned professionals—including visual designers, photographers, illustrators, videomakers, and artists across mixed media.
The 2025 edition offers a substantial launching pad into the global art scene, combining visibility, cash awards, editorial collaborations, and market entry.

Multidisciplinary freedom and creative latitude
With a deadline of 19 December 2025, the Lab Art Prize is open to works in numerous disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, graphic design, mixed media, digital art, video, net art, and all visual‑media pieces reproducible via image or video.
Everything that is visual and can be presented through images or video is allowed. This inclusive approach reflects the hybrid nature of contemporary art, where the boundaries between media and techniques are increasingly fluid.
Unlike many other competitions, the Lab Art Prize does not impose a theme—artists are free to express their vision, experiment with form, and push boundaries of conventional media.

A real exhibition for real artists
From all submissions, twelve artists will be selected as finalists and invited to participate in a high‑profile group exhibition in a major European gallery. The show includes the publication of a general catalogue and a vernissage attended by curators, critics, journalists and the art‑media entourage.
This exhibition is more than a display: it’s an unparalleled opportunity to engage with an international audience, collectors and professionals, and to situate one’s work in a credible art‑market context.
The finalists of the Lab Art Prize don’t just take part in an exhibition—they also have the opportunity to receive tangible awards aimed at supporting their professional growth.
Among the awards, the Acquisition Prize stands out: it involves the purchase of one of the finalist works by Malamegi Lab, for a value of up to €2,000.
In addition to this, a cash prize of €1,000 is awarded to the artist who, in the jury’s opinion, presents the most original and qualitatively significant work. The awarded artwork remains the property of the artist, making the prize a direct incentive for creative research.

An artist’s monograph: long-term visibility
One of the most compelling aspects of the Lab Art Prize is the opportunity for one of the finalists to receive a monographic book entirely dedicated to their artistic production.
The volume will be curated and printed at the organization’s expense, with contributions from the exhibition’s curators. It serves as a powerful communication tool that documents the artist’s work, supporting professional promotion and fostering dialogue with galleries, critics, and collectors.
A new collection, a new horizon
The Malamegi New Collection Prize offers one of the 12 finalists the opportunity to develop a complete collection of works in collaboration with Malamegi.
This collection will be presented to buyers and clients within the company’s commercial network, providing the selected artist with a genuine opportunity to enter the market.

Why participate in the Lab Art Prize
In the world of contemporary visual art, visibility and tangible opportunities must go hand in hand. The Lab Art Prize stands out precisely for this dual nature: on one hand, it offers exhibition opportunities and awards; on the other, it connects artists with a professional and commercial network.
It’s not just a simple competition, but a springboard toward a broader artistic journey, where exhibiting, publishing, selling, and storytelling become parts of a unified strategy.
In particular, for those working in the fields of visual design, digital art, or contemporary photography, this is a concrete opportunity to break local boundaries and gain recognition on an international scale.
How to participate
All information, including rules, deadlines, and submission guidelines, is available on the official website: www.lab.malamegi.com.
Registration requires a fee that varies depending on the number of works submitted (from €45 for a single work up to a maximum of €150 for six). After the call closes on December 19, 2025, a jury will select the 12 finalists.
The group exhibition will take place at the beginning of 2026. Submission, shipping, and insurance of the artworks will be the responsibility of the artists.

Lab Art Prize: not just a competition, but a connection
The Lab Art Prize 2025 represents one of the most comprehensive initiatives for promoting emerging contemporary art at the European level. It offers participants a genuine opportunity to showcase their work to curators, critics, collectors, and buyers, but above all, the chance to build a meaningful career path.
It’s an opportunity not to be missed for anyone looking to boost their artistic career through a serious, structured, and internationally recognized platform.
