Three days dedicated to hospitality interior design: INTERIHOTEL BCN25 turned Barcelona into a global creative laboratory
From October 20 to 22, 2025, INTERIHOTEL BCN25 lit up Barcelona as the world capital of hospitality design. At Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via (Hall 4), designers, architects, brands, and journalists gathered to explore new perspectives in innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
It was much more than a fair — an experiential event where design met emotion, material, and technology.

A curated press program: discovering Barcelona from the inside
On October 20, the Interi-Off program offered accredited journalists an exclusive tour through some of Barcelona’s most inspiring design spaces.
The first stop was Kimpton Vividora Barcelona, a multi-award-winning boutique hotel visited with Natali Canas, co-founder of El Equipo Creativo. The project showcased how luxury and authenticity can coexist, blending boldness with Mediterranean warmth.
The tour continued at Roca Barcelona Gallery, designed by OAB – Office of Architecture in Barcelona, an experiential building where architecture and sustainability converge.

Design on stage: the core of INTERIHOTEL BCN25
October 21 marked the main day of INTERIHOTEL BCN25, with the official press conference followed by guided tours through the event’s most innovative installations:
- Mindful Explorer Room – by ILV, inspired by Mercer Hoteles
- Nomad’s Concept Terrace – by PhiBa Architecture, inspired by Medplaya Hotels
- Materials Lab – showcasing sustainable and cutting-edge materials
- Xperience Lab – exploring digital technology in interior design
- Craft Lab – highlighting contemporary and hybrid forms of craftsmanship
Each space told a story of design as experience — a shift from aesthetics to emotion and interaction.
In the afternoon, participants visited The Barcelona EDITION, guided by Lázaro Rosa Violán Studio. The hotel impressed with its urban elegance and Catalan soul, from modernist trencadís details to artistic tributes to Gaudí and Dalí.

Matter, memory, and the future: a memorable closing
October 22 concluded the experience with a focus on emotional and sustainable design.
During the workshop “Living Matter – A Travel Amulet, A Connection”, designer Gabriela Sagarminaga led participants in creating handmade travel amulets — symbolic objects linking material, memory, and place.

The day continued with the most anticipated talk: Tom Dixon shared his reflections on authenticity, technology, and storytelling in contemporary design. In conversation with journalist Anatxu Zabalbeascoa, he explored the balance between craftsmanship and innovation, local and global perspectives.
INTERIHOTEL BCN25 left its mark
INTERIHOTEL BCN25 stood out for its ability to connect culture, material experience, and international vision.
In a world where interior design increasingly reflects identity and wellbeing, Barcelona proved that the future of hospitality lies in spaces that are human, sustainable, and deeply connected to place.
