Bivacco Camardella and the Yo seating collection awarded at the ADI Design Museum for a vision that merges territory, sustainability and social responsibility
During the Ethics Festival promoted by the Plana Association, held at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, Progetto CMR received a double recognition at the Ethical Award 2025, winning two key categories: “Ethics in Society and Work” with the Bivacco Camardella, and “Grand Ethical Design” with the Yo seating collection, designed for Frezza.
A result that confirms the studio’s commitment to projects with strong environmental, social, and cultural value.
The Ethical Award 2025 and the theme of the identity of places
The 2025 edition of the Ethics Festival focuses on the concept of the identity of places, understood as an integrated heritage that includes landscape, urban fabric, culture, and collective memory.
A complex system to be preserved and enhanced, capable of generating local development and strengthening the bond between communities and their territories.
Within this framework, the Ethical Award 2025 acknowledges projects capable of interpreting these values in a contemporary way through concrete solutions centered on people, the environment, and the quality of social and productive relationships.

Ethical Award 2025 – Ethics in Society and Work: the Bivacco Camardella
Progetto CMR won the Ethical Award 2025 in the category “Ethics in Society and Work” with Bivacco Camardella, a micro-architecture designed for high-altitude environments that blends technical innovation, memory, and environmental sustainability.
The project was created as a tribute to Edoardo Camardella, a young ski instructor who died in 2019, becoming a place of remembrance and, at the same time, an active infrastructure for the alpine and scientific community, thanks to the presence of one of the highest meteorological stations in Europe.
An integrated vision merging architecture and design
The double award highlights the studio’s ability to work across different scales—from product design to mountain architecture—while maintaining a constant focus on ethical values, sustainability, and social responsibility.
An approach that echoes Ernesto Nathan Rogers’s famous principle of designing “from the spoon to the city.”
Bivacco Camardella: technology, memory and sustainability at high altitude
Located at over 3,000 meters, Bivacco Camardella is an example of extreme and conscious architecture.
The structure, composed of two modules and clad with a high-performance insulated metal envelope, ensures energy autonomy thanks to solar panels and storage systems that power heating and lighting.
The space accommodates up to six people and includes a weather station developed with Meteo.it, capable of monitoring in real time various climate-related parameters such as temperature, wind, and atmospheric pressure.
The presence of a cross in the window frame, oriented toward Mont Blanc, reinforces the symbolic meaning of the bivouac as a place of remembrance and protection.

Yo: seating that interprets outdoor well-being
The Yo collection by Progetto CMR expresses an idea of comfort and connection with the surrounding environment.
Its clean lines, balance of solids and voids, and ergonomic research suggest seating that enhances space and invites social interaction.
Crafted with artisanal attention to detail and developed with a sustainability-oriented approach, Yo stands as a virtuous example of responsible design. This collection successfully combines aesthetics, functionality, and environmental awareness.
With its double recognition at the Ethical Award 2025, Progetto CMR reaffirms its role in today’s design and architecture landscape. The studio demonstrates how innovation and values can coexist, generating projects capable of leaving a tangible mark on places and people.
