London restarts from Design London

Originally scheduled for 2020, Design London 2021, the new 100% Design, debuts from 22 to 25 September

After a year’s hiatus, 100% Design returns to London, with a new name, Design London, and a new location. The new designated location is Magazine London, a renovated warehouse in North Greenwich. The venue is in London’s new Design District, on the Greenwich Peninsula, overlooking Canary Wharf, a short walk from North Greenwich Station.

Exhibitors at Design London 2021

The large venue will host many international brands. From Italy, Ethimo Design, Penta, Artemide and Ideal Standard will arrive. Lifestyle & Design Cluster is curating a new pavilion, with over ten Scandinavian brands. [d]arc room will return to London for its fifth year with an established lighting area within Design London and a series of expert-led lighting talks.

Exhibitors at this pop-up include Delta Light, John Cullen Lighting, Mesh, Nichia and Thorlux. In addition, Cameron Design House is launching new contemporary brand Empty State, as well as creating a custom chandelier installation.

The panel discussions program

Alongside the exhibition, a rich program of panel discussions returns as usual. Katie Richardson, the curator, has invited leading figures in the field from around the world. British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori will be one of the keynote speakers and contributors, and she has also designed her own auditorium, ‘Transparency in Shades of Color’.

Speakers will include Eley Kishimoto and Pearson Lloyd. New London Architecture (NLA) will form a panel of specialists to discuss the future of our cities, while interior design firm Trifle Creative will talk about work spaces. Dulux’s creative director Marianne Shillingford will talk with several experts about color, and Roddy Clarke will tackle the topic of sustainable craftsmanship. Finally, Sleeper will lead a panel on hospitality to see how hotels are reinventing themselves in the post-pandemic world.
