Tigullio Design District, an event dedicated to nautical design and lifestyle, will take place in Liguria from April 17 to 23, 2023
Tigullio Design District is the first international design event related to the sea, held annually in Liguria in the Gulf of Tigullio. In particular, the initiative is dedicated to yachts, nautical accessories and outdoor products as well as projects related to the environment, sustainability, green technology and innovation. Ample space will also be given to the lifestyle world.
Tigullio Design District, therefore, becomes a special occasion for national and international guests who love the sea and Italian lifestyle. The event shines a spotlight on one of Italy’s most prestigious lands, presenting itself as a new source of inspiration and development for companies, designers and young talents. During the seven-day event, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in design and the marine lifestyle through a program of events, installations and workshops.
In Liguria, design overlooks the sea
Tigullio Design District unites the Gulf of Tigullio with Genoa, home of the annual Boat Show held in September, and La Spezia, another city devoted to the global boating sector. The event transforms the Ligurian Levante and its renowned cities, such as Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Rapallo, Zoagli, Chiavari, Lavagna, and Sestri Levante, into a world reference for the blue economy and blue culture.
Tigullio Design District, an open offline and online event
The 2023 edition will include online activities, at www.tigulliodesigndistrict.com, and in-person events throughout the Gulf. All guests and participants will be invited to reflect and share their vision on the theme of the 2023 edition “Design: past, present and future.”
Sea Design Contest 2023
Also this year, there will be the Sea Design Contest, a competition launched by Tigullio Design District and Nautic One, open to university students of nautical and industrial design. From this year, the contest also has Desall as a technical partner, an Italian platform connecting designers, students and creatives from all over the world.
The winners, who will be guests of the Tigullio Design District 2024, will be announced on the website on April 17. They will also be promoted on Nautic One channels, have international visibility and get in touch with companies and professionals for future collaborations.
