Karl Lagerfeld Puts Down Roots in Lisbon: When Fashion Becomes Residential Architecture

KARL LAGERFELD Residences Lisboa is born, the Maison’s first luxury branded residence in Portugal, blending Bauhaus influences, couture lifestyle and excellence in hospitality services

KARL LAGERFELD announces KARL LAGERFELD Residences Lisboa, the brand’s first branded residential project in Lisbon and the Maison’s absolute debut in Portugal within the high-end real estate sector. Developed in collaboration with Portuguese developer OVERSEAS, the project strengthens the brand’s strategy in the world of luxury branded residences, where design, fashion and lifestyle merge into a single living experience.

Lisbon, Avenida da Liberdade and a prestigious address

The project rises at Rua Braamcamp 48–50, just steps from Avenida da Liberdade, one of the most elegant and representative districts of the Portuguese capital. An urban setting that combines luxury retail, iconic hotels and historic architecture, perfectly aligned with the Maison’s aesthetics and standards. Lisbon, with its crisp light, the geometry of azulejos and a design culture poised between Pombaline order and contemporary craftsmanship, becomes an integral part of the project’s identity.

Bauhaus architecture with a Lagerfeld signature

The building stands out for its sculptural V-shaped façade, inspired by the Bauhaus language and built on ascending vertical lines. The chromatic variation, gradually warming towards red tones, recalls an iconic detail from Karl Lagerfeld’s creative universe: the red frame he used to finish his sketches. Architecture and interior design stem from the collaboration with The One Atelier, which translates the Maison’s aesthetics into a coherent and instantly recognizable residential project.

Tailored interiors and shared spaces by KARL LAGERFELD MAISON

The common areas, furnished by KARL LAGERFELD MAISON, express rigor through an elegant palette of brushed steel, lacquer, Via Láctea stone and woods in shades of grey. Every detail reflects a precise vision of contemporary luxury, where materials, proportions and finishes engage in a balanced dialogue, free of excess.

Wellness as an immersive experience

The wellness level represents one of the project’s key focal points. Accessible to all residents, it includes a multisensory emotional shower, hammam, sauna, gym, treatment retail area, a heated pool and a “floating” pool. A distinctive element ideally connects Lisbon to Biarritz: the pool’s underwater sound system, inspired by the one in Karl Lagerfeld’s historic home. The penthouse also features a private outdoor pool with a transparent floor, which becomes the ceiling of the level below, introducing a bold and highly scenographic architectural gesture.

Hospitality, service and lifestyle by Karl Lagerfeld

The project integrates hotel-level services, including a dedicated concierge, private underground parking and a welcoming team wearing custom KARL LAGERFELD uniforms, complemented by branded linens. An approach that transforms the residence into a complete lifestyle experience, fully aligned with the brand’s philosophy.

A strategic piece in the Maison’s global map

KARL LAGERFELD Residences Lisboa joins the brand’s international portfolio of real estate and hospitality projects, alongside The KARL LAGERFELD Macau, the Marbella Villas and the upcoming Dubai Villas. Completion of the complex is scheduled for 2028, marking a new milestone in the evolution of the brand within the world of luxury residential architecture.
