The festival celebrating the art of fire returns: artists and furnaces have until April 16 to submit their projects for the tenth anniversary edition
Venice is preparing to shine the spotlight once again on its most precious tradition. March has officially marked the opening of applications for The Venice Glass Week 2026, the international festival dedicated to artistic glass, which this year reaches the prestigious milestone of its tenth anniversary.
Following the success of the last edition, which drew over 165,000 visitors, the event will return to animate Venice, Murano, and Mestre from September 12 to 20, 2026. This is an unmissable appointment that transforms the lagoon into a global showcase for glass innovation and craftsmanship.

A Special Edition: Tenth Anniversary Highlights
To celebrate ten years of “The Magic of Glass,” the organizing committee has announced a program full of surprises. The most anticipated update concerns Murano Illumina il Mondo (Murano Lights up the World): the event that brings spectacular light installations by master glassmakers to the streets and squares will be moved forward to September. It will become the beating heart of the festival, ideally merging tradition and contemporary design under the light of glass.
How to Participate: Registration and Deadlines
National and international artists, designers, galleries, and institutions can submit their applications exclusively online via the official website until Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Participation in The Venice Glass Week 2026 is free and offers several ways to get involved:
- Independent Projects: exhibitions, workshops, conferences, or performances distributed throughout the Venetian territory.
- The Venice Glass Week HUB: a curatorial selection hosted in a historic Venetian palazzo, dedicated to artists aged 36 and over.
- HUB Under35: a special space at the Piazza San Marco Gallery (Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa) reserved for emerging young talents in glass design.

The Scientific Committee and Selection Criteria
All proposals will be vetted by a committee of international experts chaired by glass historian Rosa Barovier Mentasti. The team, composed of curators and museum directors (from the MAK in Vienna to the Glasmuseet in Ebeltoft), will select projects based on quality and originality: preference will be given to new proposals specifically designed for the festival.
Whether it is a monumental installation or a themed dinner, the goal remains the promotion of artistic glass in all its forms, maintaining the exceptionally high standard that has made the Venetian week a global point of reference.
