Ambiente, the trade fair dedicated to kitchenware and tableware, held every year in Frankfurt, will be back from 7 to 11 February 2020 in the pavilions of Messe Frankfurt
Ambiente, the yearly trade fair dedicated to kitchenware and tableware, held in Frankfurt every February, is the world’s leading fair dedicated to the consumer goods industry. The 2019 edition saw the participation of 4,460 exhibitors from 90 countries, receiving over 130 thousand visitors from 136 countries. Nevertheless, Ambiente is not just a large-scale exhibition: over the years, it has become a cultural hub promoting the industry trends.
Ambiente 2020: highlights and special events
The new HoReCa hall
Among the special events of the 2020 edition of Ambiente, the new HoReCa hall recognizes the contract sector as one of the main business fields also for tableware and kitchenware. Hall 6.0, located in the Dining area, hosts over 100 professional exhibitors and is one of the most international display areas of the fair.
Moreover, in 2020, there will be the first edition of the HoReCa Academy, including a program of conferences, round tables and many other events. The Academy will offer buyers, restaurateurs, designers the perfect chance to exchange views and keep up with the innovations and new concepts of the field.
A new consumer ethics
The Ethical Style Guide will be published also in 2020, gathering the companies that make their products with ethical and sustainable principles. The companies included in the guide offer products whose sustainability is certified along the whole supply chain – materials, production processes, recycling, reclaiming, reuse. This Guide, written by a jury of experts, represents a helpful tool for buyers looking for companies with an ethics in production.
Innovative design at Ambiente
Among Ambiente’s highlights, there are several initiatives dedicated to design and innovation. The ‘Talents’ areas showcase projects by young emerging talents, divided into the Dining (Hall 4.0) and Living (Hall 8.0) sectors. Furthermore, the German Design Council holds its annual awards ceremony during Ambiente, an event that celebrates design with the German Design Award, to which an exhibition is dedicated. Last but not least, there will be the exhibition ‘Solutions’, curated by British designer Sebastian Bergne, which every year selects the ‘smartest’ household products.
Ambiente: prestigious awards
In addition to the German Design Award, many other interesting prizes are given during Ambiente, including Plagiarius, a negative award given to those who plagiarize products. During Ambiente, the winners of the Kitchen Innovation of the Year Award, Tableware International Awards of Excellence and Dineus-Award – the prize dedicated to outstanding tableware products, now in its second edition – will be proclaimed.
