Art direction and industrial design
Art direction for brands of architectural materials and furniture products is one of Cristina Celestino’s activities. For example, herwork for Fornace Brioni perfectly expresses the designer’s passion for material and historical research. Fornace Brioni is an ancient furnace based in Gonzaga, near Mantua, the land of the Gonzagas par excellence. Celestino was therefore inspired by the Renaissance, with its Italian gardens and Renaissance architecture in and around Mantua, for materials with warm colors and textures that recreate the perspective illusions of the paintings of the time. Warm colors and precious materials are recurring themes in the architecture of Cristina Celestino, who works with several fashion brands; she draws inspiration for furniture products from their designs.

Cristina Celestino, in fact, also designs the furnishings of the spaces she creates, in which she infuses a spirit of hospitality and friendliness, expressed in the presence of many seats, which bring people closer together. In fact, she particularly likes to design sofas; these elements can take different shapes and layouts and lend themselves to design research. In a nutshell, Cristina Celestino’s approach is to constantly seek a balance between art, fashion and design.
At Maison & Objet in Paris, Cristina Celestino’s “Palais Exotique” opens its doors from September 8 to 12, 2022.
