The winning projects by Catellani & Smith
Ettorino T, awarded as the Best Table Lighting of the Year, is a table lamp that can provide the right lighting while studying or working. Movement and rotation characterize the practicality and functionality of this lamp, articulated by a kinematic system filed by Catellani & Smith as an invention patent.
The light, produced by a 10W COB LED (1440lm), is contained within a cylindrical head that can be positioned at different heights. The rotation of the lamp also allows the light to be directed toward the wall.
Ettorino T’s characteristic red silhouette is hooked onto the horizontal rod of the lamp, acting as a tensioner, while the dimmer, held in place by a magnet on the square base, adjusts the light intensity. Ettorino T is available in different finishes: from the classic black and white, to the novel “colorful” version in the three primary colors – blue, yellow and red.
Creativity and color plays with the Ale BE T lamp
The other lamp by Catellani & Smith awarded a Prize Designs for Modern Furniture + Lighting is Ale BE T. This wireless battery-operated table lamp can be transported and placed in any environment, decorating any space with originality. Through a small cylinder, the circular base of the lamp connects to two thin electrified V-shaped rods supporting the hemispherical dome, which can rotate on a single axis to allow the light of the 1.5 W (220 lm) LED to be directed. Ale BE T is available in white, black, a “colorful” and a neon version in which orange, blue, yellow and magenta create a fun color mix. It is characterized by an original detail: a fly resting on the hemisphere hiding the screw for attachment to the lamp body.
