Sustainability Award 2024: The Winners

The sixth edition of the award, held during the 48th edition of Hotel a Fiera Bolzano, celebrated the best sustainable practices across four key categories

From October 21 to 24, 2024, the 48th edition of Hotel a Fiera Bolzano hosted the sixth edition of the Sustainability Award, the prestigious recognition that celebrates the best practices and solutions in the hospitality industry in terms of sustainability, innovation, and research. The event revealed the winners in four categories: Sustainable Food & Drink, Circular Product Design, Sustainable Technology, and Sustainable Tourism Pioneers: 360°

Sustainable Food & Drink

In the Sustainable Food & Drink category, first place was awarded to the Panettone from Pasticceria Giotto in Padua, an example of tradition and social commitment, involving 38 inmates in their reintegration process. Second place went to CAMPO’s Pasta al cubo, an innovative fermented organic pasta made from durum wheat. Third place was awarded to the Alps Beef Südtirol project by Siebenförcher SRL, a company promoting South Tyrolean beef.

Sustainable Technology

In the Sustainable Technology category, Gastrofresh SRL won first place for its innovative reusable crate system, certified Cradle to Cradle, which significantly reduces the use of single-use packaging. Second place went to the Green Cleaning Project by Re-Think SRL, with its eco-friendly cleaning system that prevents waste and chemical dispersion. Finally, third place was awarded to the Ecoturbino by Cribera SRL, which reduces water consumption in showers by 40%.

Circular Product Design

Steva Hemp took first place in the Circular Product Design category with its high-quality, pesticide-free natural hemp bedding. Second place went to Prima SRL for its circular slippers made from recyclable cork, followed by the Pouf by Brasilheroe, which was created with a sustainable and family-oriented approach.

Sustainable Tourism Pioneers 360°

Finally, in the Sustainable Tourism Pioneers 360° category, the Cyprianerhof Dolomit Resort took first place for its autonomous energy production through photovoltaic and biomass systems, as well as its strong commitment to the cultural and social enhancement of the region. Second place went to Kessler’s Mountain Lodge for harmoniously combining tourism and agriculture, while OLM Nature Escape secured third place for offering immersive nature experiences.

The next edition of Hotel and the Sustainability Award will take place at Fiera Bolzano from October 13 to 16, 2025.
