From Valencia to the world: the duo blending classical sculpture and spray cans redefines metropolitan aesthetics
The boundary between the museum and the street no longer exists. PichiAvo, the Valencian duo formed by Juan Antonio (Pichi) and Álvaro (Avo), transforms gray city facades into modern temples. Their artistic research dissolves individuality to give life to a unique language that unites the rigor of classical art with the disruptive force of contemporary urban art. Through a bold mix of painting and sculpture, the two Spanish artists bring Greek mythology into the heart of the concrete jungle.

From the Streets of Valencia to the Olympic Games
Pichi and Avo met in 2007 within Valencia’s graffiti scene. Both come from backgrounds in Fine Arts and Design, a training that shines through in every technical gesture. After years of studio experimentation, they found their definitive voice: a perfect fusion of Renaissance aesthetics and wild-style lettering.
2015 marked their international breakthrough at the North West Walls festival in Belgium. Since then, their contemporary urban art has conquered prestigious spaces such as Miami’s Wynwood Walls and the historic Houston-Bowery Wall in New York. In 2024, the duo reached a media pinnacle by completing two projects for the Paris Olympic Games, confirming the versatility of their practice in both outdoor and indoor environments.

A Unique Style Between Sculpture and Painting
PichiAvo’s strength lies in balance. Their works do not merely decorate a wall; they create visual friction. Seeing a Venus de Milo or a Laocoön wrapped in neon-colored tags generates an aesthetic shock that fascinates both collectors and passersby.
The two artists work with a versatile range of materials, moving from canvas to monumental installations. In 2019, they surprised the world with a 26-meter-high sculpture for the Fallas festival in Valencia, proving that contemporary urban art can occupy three-dimensional space with the same power as a monumental fresco. The recent publication of their anthology, Our Odyssey, traces the outlines of this unique creative journey.

Upcoming Events: Valencia and Athens
2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for the duo. Between March 15 and 19, PichiAvo will return to their roots with the project “Per Ofrenar” for the Valencia Fallas. Shortly after, from April 10 to 19, they will take their tribute to classicism back to where it all began: in Athens, Greece, they will create the “Mural of Athena.” These interventions promise to further consolidate their position among the global leaders of urban creativity.
