MonteNapoleone District’s Tribute to Leonardo Da Vinci

The open air installation by Franchi Umberto Marmi in collaboration with the Milanese district for the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death was a great success

To celebrate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci’s death, Giuseppe Venuta, designer, reproduced, with the most precious variety of white Carrara marble, Statuario, the Vitruvian Man leaning against a corten totem column, establishing an ideal dialogue between Leonardo and Michelangelo through this material.

This work was part of the installation by franchiumbertomarmi, partner of the MonteNapoleone District for the exhibition “LEONARDO DA VINCI. A VISION OF A GENIUS”. The tribute to the inventor, artist and scientist whose curiosity and skills touched several disciplines was held from 10 to 16 June, patronized by Comune di Milano.

The open air exhibition on via Montenapoleone, curated by Giuseppe Barbieri consisted in ten drawings from Leonardo’s Codes paired with the works by Mirko Baldini aka Koro Design. Some of Leonardo’s most representative works were presented to the public in a pop version by this “image craftsman”, expert in the customization of objects and clothes for brands such as Harley Davidson, MV Agusta, Cappellini, Dolce & Gabbana, Diesel, Versace and Philipp Plein.
