Hi-tech architecture, contemporary design and art characterize Cantina Ceretto, which, in the recent 20 years, has revived large parts of the Langhe region
Cantina Ceretto: ‘L’Acino’
‘L’Acino’ (‘the grape’), designed by Turin-based architects Luca and Marina Deabate, is an addition to the ancient farm of the Monsordo Bernardina Alba estate. The nerve center of Azienda Vitivinicola Ceretto, L’Acino is a new contemporary space dedicated to food and wine tastings, meetings, artistic and cultural events and the promotion of the territory.
With its bold and technological architecture, L’Acino overlooks the beautiful Langhe hills and stands like a huge oval bubble on a oak platform. Made in EFTE, completely transparent, it is suspended among the rows of vines and looks like a big grape.

‘Il Cubo’ (‘the cube’), again by Luca and Marina Deabate, is an addition to the ancient farm of Bricco Rocche Castiglione Falletto estate, owned by Azienda Vitivinicola Ceretto. Entirely made in transparent glass, with no frame, to offer unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape, Il Cubo is a tilted box surrounded by rows of vines.
Cappella del Barolo
Also Cappella del Barolo (‘the chapel of Barolo’), in La Morra, in the province of Cuneo, belongs to Cantina Ceretto. This chapel was never consecrated and was used as a shelter by the workers of the vineyard in case of foul weather from the early 20th century. In the ’70s Azienda Vitivinicola Ceretto acquired it to turn it into one of the most visited buildings in the area. Today the Chapel of Barolo dominates the landscape thanks to Sol LeWitt and David Tremlett’s artistic intervention. [Text Arianna Callocchia – Photo Ceretto Azienda Vitivinicola]
