FABRIANO participates in Identitalia, The Iconic Italian Brands, the exhibition celebrating the 140th anniversary of the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, at Palazzo Piacentini, Rome
FABRIANO participates in Identitalia, The Iconic Italian Brands, the exhibition promoted by Mimit – Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, running at Palazzo Piacentini, Rome, until April 6, 2024.
Identitalia, The Iconic Italian Brands
The exhibition gathers 100 companies from every sector, for a total of 113 brands, to celebrate the 140th anniversary of the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, enriched in 2019 with the Special Register of Historic Trademarks of National Interest, containing brands that have been registered for more than 50 years and are still active.
Curated by Carlo Martino and Francesco Zurlo, Design professors at Università La Sapienza di Roma and at Politecnico di Milano, this exhibition has been designed to enhance an industrial, design and material heritage of inestimable value, made up of successful entrepreneurial stories and designers who changed the way corporate image of products is communicated. Through original drawings, photographs, historical documents, advertising posters and video projections, visitors are invited to rediscover the brands that made history and are still part of our daily lives.
FABRIANO, a piece of the Italian cultural heritage
With 760 years of history, FABRIANO paper is part of Italy’s cultural heritage, always at the side of artists, writers, illustrators, calligraphers, professionals, enthusiasts and students of all ages, all over the world. Since 1971 it has been known in Italy and abroad thanks to the iconic logo created by designer Carlo Cattaneo: geometric and linear, marked by clarity and legibility that has made it universal over time.
This exhibition tells the story of the FABRIANO brand and its evolution, from the posters of Cartiere Miliani to the latest re-branding in 2021, starring on the cover of the legendary F4 white drawing papers, alongside images of the factories still active today in the Marche region. Moreover, it is the only papermaker in the world that produces with three technologies: by hand, with a Fourdinier machine or cylinder mold. A path that over the years has embodied the values of tradition and innovation that have always inspired an entirely Italian production, which gathers the fruit of ancient knowledge, handed down from generation to generation, aiming for the highest quality with a daily commitment to guarantee sustainability and respect for the environment.
