Some protagonists of the new edition stand out for their innovative impact and ability to redefine the future of design.
The renowned event, Superdesign Show, returns as part of the Milano Design Week, celebrating its 25th anniversary with this edition. The theme of the event, which will take place from April 6th to 13th, will be “happiness.”
Superdesign Show 2025: “Happiness, here is the key word”
“Happiness. Here is the key word,” say the organizers, “which encompasses hope and beauty. In these dark and uncertain times of post-Covid, wars, economic crises, geopolitical changes, and unpredictable tariffs, it is something we need, at least a little, at least in our homes, in the outdoor spaces we live in, in our daily gestures. Happiness – inherent in the products, evident in the installations – is the challenge we’ve posed to those who wanted to participate in this edition of Superdesign Show at Superstudio Più in Via Tortona, a historic venue that once again sets the trends or at least the desires”.

Happiness. As our theme of the year. As HAPPINESS, the manifesto identified by the exclusive lettering created by graphic artist Daniele Cima, where each letter is considered a small work of art. As the common thread of the exhibition path characterized by the bright yellow chosen by art director Giulio Cappellini. As a big thank you to the protagonists of Made in Italy who have been with us over these 25 years and today return with the exhibition of their unforgettable pieces. As the spectacular show staged around the car once again by Lexus. As the immersive emotions to be experienced in nature, explored through FORUM8’s 4.0 technology. As well-being told through the virtual aquatic experience by Geberit. As the selection of “out-of-this-world” proposals, that is, from the far East (China, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand), so rich in ideas that mix tradition with innovation. As the “happy objects” that tell stories of unusual creativity and make us smile. As “The Tree of Life,” the gigantic textile sculpture from the 2024 Venice Biennale, by artist Carla Tolomeo.
The numbers of the 2025 edition
With the participation of over 70 designers from 10 countries, the involvement of 3 continents, and the presentation of more than 20 projects, this year’s collective and international event once again confirms itself as an unmissable appointment for anyone who wants to explore the latest trends and future visions of design. We are pleased to introduce this edition with sociologist and essayist Francesco Morace, founder of Future Concept Lab, who will talk to us about ourselves and about Happiness.

Innovation at the Forefront: Independent Pavilions
Some of the protagonists of the Superdesign Show stand out for their innovative impact and their ability to redefine the future of design. Among these, two names shine for the futuristic vision of their installations, welcoming visitors into independent pavilions.
Lexus – “A-Un” and “Discover Together”: The first is an installation that demonstrates how cars can transcend the limits of new possibilities in the human-machine relationship. The visitor’s heartbeat merges with the sounds of nature in a space woven with bright threads that reproduce the shape of the “Black Butterfly.” This next-generation cockpit for electric vehicles is reinterpreted by the interactive works of the second project, the result of co-creation between teams of emerging creators.
Geberit – “WHERE WATER MEETS DESIGN”: An immersive experience that tells the essence and power of water, mastering its force with cutting-edge solutions that transform this natural element into innovation for daily well-being.
Various entities join forces to create projects that merge culture, tradition, and innovation. These are collectives bringing visions of distant and increasingly green worlds to the walls of Superstudio Più.
- Hong Kong Interior Design Association (HKIDA) – “Urban Reflection”: An exhibition bringing together ten groups of interior designers and local furniture manufacturers. Traditional craftsmanship blends with modern design through unique materials such as recycled yarns and glass recovered from iconic local trams: a poetic fusion of progressivism and ancient working methods that transport visitors to a dynamic and historically rich region.
- Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) & Thailand Creative Culture Agency (THACCA) – “Slow Hand Design Thailand 2025” and “FRONT 100”: Exhibitions that tell the vibrant diversity of Thailand, showcasing products like statues and furniture designed to bring happiness amid life’s uncertainties, evoking a smile from the viewer and offering a touch of the charm and warmth that define the country.
- “Happy objects”: A selection of products that innovatively interpret the concept of happiness. Among these:
- Amore Ocean by SLIDE, a bench made from recycled plastic taken from the oceans, which also serves as a manifesto: an anthem to sustainability and innovation, a powerful invitation to respect the oceans and the environment.
- Artell Editions: Collezione Neoequipal by Code Studio, two modular seats with voluminous shapes and vibrant colored fabrics that reinvent the iconic Equipal chair.
- Glider Chair by PlanAbacus, seats evoking the aerodynamic lightness of a glider, crafted through the curvature and folding of materials.
- Rinascita by ADJ.STYLE, an installation that expresses the duality of life through Gianpaolo Venier’s two-dimensional vases.
- Dancing Stars by Michele Pompilio, copper lamps with variable diameter holes that create a lively play of lights.
- Materially – “The Scale of Commitment”: A collective that has always highlighted the concrete commitment of material producers in shaping a more sustainable future.
A Mosaic of Happy Projects
The event welcomes a wide variety of exhibitors, each with their original contribution to the design landscape and their interpretation of Happiness.
WOHL HUTTE (in collaboration with SAMNICON, TEASTE IT, and FATE INDUSTRIES) – “Bagliore”: A tea-room welcoming visitors into the modern Japanese lifestyle. The exquisite tea from Shizuoka by Teaste It meets the craftsmanship of contemporary design in a space created specifically for offering a tasting of the millennia-old beverage.
Acmé – “Ode to Everyday Things”: A series of objects that combine innovation and craftsmanship, transforming every element into a true work of art. The exhibition space enhances every detail and evokes the meeting between sacredness and lightness through fabrics and color palettes.
German National Tourist Board – “Cultureland Germany: a Design Journey”: A multimedia experience celebrating German design through iconic pieces like Peter Keler’s Cradle and other more recent works.
FLYING FLEA BY MATTIA BIAGI – “Motototem”: A motorcycle-sculpture where materials such as travertine, glass, and aluminum blend to go beyond usual aesthetics, connecting the motorcycle to nature in an elegant and harmonious way.
FORUM8 – “Empowering Happiness Through Web 4.0”: A project that addresses natural themes and changes, offering solutions and redesigning spaces with cutting-edge and immersive systems, taking visitors all the way to the Moon with innovative technologies.
GPJ Japan / Yutaka / ONEFABRICA – “Happiness One-fab objects f(x) =?”: An installation that embraces the chaotic essence of joy through the ever-changing movement of a double pendulum, capturing harmony in disorder.
Habits – “Light Bites”: Interactive tableware that responds to food and gestures with light variations, creating a connection between perception, emotion, and conviviality.
Hsiang Han Hsu for Cappellini – “X Possibilities”: An installation derived from the modular “X Table System” collection, inviting reflection on the infinite possibilities of extending nature within industry and art.
Istituto Marangoni Milano•The School of Design – “Sensitive Space”: A project exploring the future of living through smart and interactive spaces, where design and technology merge to create dynamic and immersive environments.
LAPILLI (in collaboration with FoodDesignStories) – “The Yellow Room”: A promenade divided into three macro-areas of happiness: from the construction site, through the garden, to the material library, where lava stone gives substance to this state of mind.
Letright – “Ombra Smart Pergola”: A product inspired by the timeless proportions of ancient Greek architecture, allowing outdoor spaces to be enjoyed year-round with negative carbon emissions, thanks to a perfect fusion of eco-friendly materials and technology.
Niklas Jacob – “Funnyture”: A collection of furniture elements exploring the boundaries between design and communication, creating a fun experience through the relationship between meaning and object. From the Rolling Stones-inspired mouth chair to the Couch Potato, which prompts reflection on the contemporary sedentary lifestyle.
Nikolaus Bagnara – “Hope”: Three different environments, each corresponding to a mood, dialoguing with each other and guiding the visitor on a journey of self-discovery, from darkness to rebirth.
SOGIMI – “Flying”: An “internal” proposal within the Superstudio world, on the first floor above the main hall, from Sogimi, an innovator in the field of plastics, who has entrusted artist Davide Dall’Osso with the task of generating beauty from the reuse of processing scraps as the foundation for his sculptures.

Beyond the Boundaries of Art
At the Superdesign Show, design and art intertwine in a continuous dialogue. This vocation has deep roots: since its foundation, Superstudio Più has been a point of reference for fashion, art, design, and creativity, a place where ideas take shape and cross-pollinate. This legacy finds its fullest expression in the FLA FlavioLucchiniArt Museum, which, in addition to the artist’s collection, hosts two extraordinary presences for this occasion.
- HUB161 – “Voluptas”: An immersive experience inviting exploration of beauty, desire, and sophisticated sensuality through new forms, materials, and suggestions. It represents Italy’s craftsmanship, extraordinary artists, and historic homes opened for temporary residencies where one can savor the excellence of Italian hospitality. Featuring artists such as Arrigo Musti (Poliedrica), Brun Fine Art, Carla Tolomeo, Eleit.it, Francesco Maria Messina, Hybrid & Icon, Marcello Colombo, Marmi Regina, Maurizio Scianna, Mirei Monticelli, Oro di Sciacca, Pimar Limestone, Rudi Moriconi, Simplex Architecture, Vibieffe, and with video presentations of the residencies: La Pietra Compattata, Sicilcima, Tenuta il Poggio, Grand Hotel Majestic, Villa Athena Resort, Villa Stecchini Resort, Masseria Secolario, Duca di Salaparuta, and Villa Tasca.
- THE LAB – “Facades – L’ordine nel Caos”: In The Lab, a space reserved for emerging artists, the paintings of Mao Sagao evoke urban facades and invite reflection on society, the collective solitude of cities, and the relationship between the individual and space. Metropolitan landscapes, increasingly depersonalized beehives.
- FLA MUSEUM – “Dialogues between Fashion, Design, and Architecture” at the FLA FlavioLucchiniArt Museum. Guided tours in an underground path, through air-raid shelters, workshops, and cellars, reveal 20 thematic rooms showcasing the vast contemporary archive of Flavio Lucchini’s works. A preview of the museum and the hundreds of collected works is presented at the entrance of Superdesign Show, in MyOwnGallery, with the exhibition “Enjoy,” where Lucchini presents never-before-seen works.
Talks and Presentations
In a room at the center of the exhibition path, impromptu talks and presentations will allow the sharing of ideas with visitors. Among the already scheduled events is the cross-promotion with ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair), which continues this year and brings to Superdesign Show a talk titled “Good Design and Architecture Create Happiness,” exploring the role of design and architecture as active contributors to happiness through the design of spaces and objects.
The following events include: an open dialogue from Matrix4Design on the concept of Happiness, featuring four successful authors of books on the subject, including Gisella Borioli. The “Meet the Artist” sessions include: graphic artist Daniele Cima, creator of the Happiness logo, discussing how art intersects with graphics; Italian painter Mao Sagao on art and architecture; textile artist Carla Tolomeo, who uses fabric as the base for her works; sculptor Davide Dall’Osso, who creates figures from plastic waste; and artist Mattia Biagi, who talks about transforming a racing motorcycle into sculpture.
Technical partners for this edition include: FREDDY, the Superdesign Show team will wear a special uniform by Freddy; KALD GmbH, with its SurfBench wave-like benches; the magical pouf-balloon designs by HEFLIES; and SLIDE, with its humorous and functional furnishings on the ROOF of Superstudio Più, open to the public as a relaxation bar in a completely renewed space, where Michelangelo Pistoletto’s installation “Terzo Paradiso” dominates.
